6 hours for a 90 days check - So where is all that new technology?

Just a casual 6 hours.  That's ****** on the seat 3 times, leaning on a tissue dispenser and 2 scratched out QR codes.  A lot of work!

And the final hour?  This where it got interesting.  I have noticed this on two seperate occasions.  So its 17:00  and there's still 290 people in front of me.  But all of a sudden they start processing 20 at a time.  Just like that the queue numbers start flying.  But what about national security???  What happened?  So you can move fast when you want to.

8:30 to 17:00 - 1 person every 10 minutes

17:00 to 18:00 - 20 people every 10 minutes

How about you?  Do you physically go to the immigration, do it onlne, or use an agent?

Everything is a problem, everyone is trying to stick it to Thailand somehow, until that last hour when the sound of staplers and stamps rises like a storm.

I’m Mr DIY, no agent and go alone. Get there early and usually done within an hour for the non-o. The worst part is navigating through the knee jerking folks from the big red country up north.

CW with an appointment.  Queue number called exactly at the appointment time.  2 minutes to process.  Excellent service all round.

The way they do things incentivizes overstaying. Not saying id do it, but it beats obeying a broken system

Ever try to do it by mail? I did once a few years ago....worked then..not sure about now.

Why didn't you make an appointment..

The link is posted in this thread.

Note: for others you must make print out of your appointment.

It's no longer confirmation email.

It's a screenshot from appointment page and print..

Jomtiem is 'chock a block' with dumbo short termers from 'backa *******' 'countries, 200bht agent for this ol me!

Given that you can only report on-line in a seven-day window - I assume this recent change is still in effect - and that there are limited appointment slots, which get booked out quickly, more people are forced to report in person.

And there are runners with upwards of 50 passports in hand filing reports.

So the reports of wait-times of up to four+ hours are probably to be expected.

Maybe they shift more staff to 90-day processing once they clear their backlog at 17:00?

IME, once you hand over your document package the report gets processed in three minutes tops.

CW is my reporting office, I assume that's the OP's office as well.

No in my experience.

I did report Nov 5 with appointment.

No issue.

Attached is screenshot of just now checking for appointment at CW for TM47.

In the last 12 years, the longest has been 10 minutes, normally less than 5

to answer your question you are a perfect example of someone who should apply on line

This year I had to appear three times in person. Once for a new passport, for which I have some understanding and twice for entering the country again, hard to understand how this is useful if you live at the same address for more than 10 years.  I did not know about this and did not about online appointment, but since during Covid I went to the Pak Kret office once because I did not get a reply to my mailed application after more than six weeks and there was hardly any queue, I thought I would just go to CW and fix this. I arrived at 10.30 and queue number was 384. As said here the process was at 10 per hour, so that looked as if I would never have my turn. At the desk however they assured me I would be processed that day. Towards the end of the afternoon the speed went up. Then me and another person (both white hair) were taken out by the staff and got our 90 days. And I can confirm that an online appointment is served punctually. This still whole 90 days can do with a revamp.

15 minutes no appointment in Pathum Thani

From what I read here anyone that goes to Pats or CW without an appointment and eh papers ready is asking for trouble lol

TIME:

It all depends on the LOCAL OFFICE traffic.

I have done a TM-30 several times this year - will do one in a few days due to hotel stay. The shortest wait IN a line has been 4 minutes, the longest 17 minutes - so far.

For the TM-47 it's usually 2 to 4 minutes and DONE. once was 14 minutes 2 years ago.

I live 15 minutes from the immigration office, I hit the 7-11 on the way home, 2 birds 1 stone.

KORAT IO has their together, VERY SERVICE ORIENTED and NORMALLY SPEEDY.

Mail has always worked like a dream for me. This year got my slip back after just two days!!!!

I've been doing it online since the year after covid. no problems at all, confirmation is quick.

Not an issue in Pattaya. A sign on the 90 day report desk says it may take up to 1 hour wait, I got mine done in 40 minutes

Online for me.

If for some reason that dont work, I send one of the ladies from the HR dept.

At the Immigration office in Kamphaeng Phet, if you get there before 10am you are usually their only customer, and it takes between 5 and 10 minutes. It is about a 1 hour drive each way. My wife is my driver and we usually combine it with a bulk shop in the city.

So easy. We go 4 times a year, 3 times for a 90 report and the fourth to combine the 90 report and the annual extension.

The op seems to find the hardest way to do things.

IMO simply to find something to whine and complain about.

I've been doing it for years on-line but I go to Europe tonight so next one apparently will have to be done in-person at Jomtien.

I went there 3 weeks ago, went from being told i had 48 hrs to leave the country,to being stamped in till next November all within 2 hrs,, fantastic staff...got my first 90 day report in feb, do you need and photos, form filling, photo copying, never done one before..

I always go to CW in person. On 19 November I was out by 1030hrs having obtained an annual extension based on retirement, and having made my 90 day report. Fast, friendly service with no hassle.
