You would be about right as here's a more refined search covering around the same area with Lucky's Vietnamese towards the top right and Maison Siagon bottom left.  Even it is probably not perfect but hopefully more helpful.

None of us understand fully how Google works, but I think the poster of the first map understands less than most.

I went to Mai restaurant. Great service and beautiful ambience with a view over the city.

The food is highly original. We had Cinammon burned rice with lamb, sour soup with ribs, Hang Lay with pork belly and potatoes, and sitr fried noodles in soy sauce with pork.

Everything was exquisitely well balanced flavour wise, though to me the Cinannomon burned rice was the star.

You can keep it to 2000 baht if you skip dessert and cocktails.

Afterwards there's a nice rooftop bar to have cocktails if the weather is good and your budget allows.

Great location with excellent serivce and original food.

We were there a month ago, very nice indeed and the rooftop bar is very pleasant.

Is it still smoke season up there? Better find a place with air filters.

I went to Palette restaurant in 137 Pillars.

We ordered fried sebass and chicken satay for starter, followed by Wagyu cheeks stir fried and red curry with duck.

This may be the best restaurant in Chiang Mai, certainly top 3. Outstanding service, best I had in Chiang Mai, superb food, balance of flavours and lovely ambience.

Can't fault it. A bottle of water costs 320 baht mind you. But if you skip dessert and cocktails you can keep it to 2400 or thereabouts.

The  137 Pillars House is an elegant, painstakingly restored very large 19th-century teak wood structure which is somewhat elevated.. Originally the headquarters for the East Borneo Trading Company. If you get a window seat you can eat overlooking the lush tropical gardens. It's a really a lovely place to dine.

Is the parking adequate for a car? Inadequate parking can make the finest restaurant not worth it (unless there's valet parking, which is non existent in Chiang Mai, at least in my experience).

Good question. They do have parking, but it is not exactly spacious. After you park you have to back out backwards. Well worth it though for the food and ambience. Two guys help regulate car park traffic.

I have stayed there many times, it was founded and owned by one of the stars of the King and I with Yul Bryner if if I remember correctly

It was indeed founded by Leon  Leonowens, the son of Anna  Leonowens. Both are depicted in a fictionalised version of her time in Siam. She famously accused the King of Siam of ordering an execution, which Thais to this day insist did not take place. Anna was taken to task face to face by the descendants of the king for writing lies about him, but she still insisted the stories were true. She was a secretive and fascinating woman by all accounts.

My wife and I live in Phitsanulok. We use to frequent CM monthly for health issues it's been quite a few years

since visiting. I've kind of completed PT for triple bypass surgery and knee replacement surgery, both in the last 7 months. Now we want to overnight in CM in Dec. and enjoy a night or afternoon of fine dining. Preferably seafood like king crab, lobster, and oysters Rockefeller etc., if seafood is not available Prime Rib, or steak ain't bad and there is always Duke's if my search is in vain.

Shangri La Hotel use to have a seafood buffet with King crab and Lobster tail but they no longer offer same.

If anyone knows of a Hotel or restaurant or resort that has anything comparable, please let me know.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Years ago when we lived there we used to eat at Duke's in Promenade Mall regularly - good food and reasonable price. The Promenade closed a while ago it seems, but Duke's now has 4 locations open across Chiang Mai.  The Shangri La was great too - excellent restaurant and we stayed overnight a few times.  We are planning a trip there next year - look forward to seeing the answers about a decent hotel with a good restaurant.

Baan Landai, High end fusion Thai food. Really good, make reservations. Reasonably priced but not cheap. Michelin listed.

Sipolle by Chef Dan had both live lobster, grilled, and brown crab, but those were on the daily special menu, so could be subject to change. You'd have to contact them.

During an Old City exploration came acrosss Khamfu restaurant in the Lavana Hotel. Looks like a tourist trap from the outside, but when you go inside it's a relatively large court yard type space with an indoor that has great aircon, as well as outside seating.

Service was excellent, courteous and efficient without being oppressive.

The food on offer is a good range including Massaman Curry and staples like Sweet and Sour Pork, albeit with strips of thin pork and not the traditional Chinese pork preparation, but it is still very good and beautifully presented.

Khamfu is particularly suited for those on a budget, as they have a set menu that includes a soft drink, fruit platter and a good main course, all for 189 baht. Fresh cocount drinks are also available, at 80 baht.

Very good value, a lovely aircon setting right in the centre of Old City. Food whilst not superb or outstanding in any way is of good standard and very beautifully presented and certainly great value. Top Location obviously, though no parking.

I did not realise there is a trend for "Breakfast restaurants" in Chiang Mai. In fact one of the trendiest, busiest restaurants in all of Chiang Mai now is a breakfast restaurant called Saneha.

The location is outstanding, close to the 3 Kings monument on that road towards Chedi Luang. The food however is even more outstanding. Saneha served perhaps the best ham and cheese toastie I ever had. Truly excellent. I complemented it with a Vietnamese pork sandwich which was also very good. Both items were on the sweet side and the pork sandwich had a touch of fat, though not too much. Very tasty.

The menu is really good, lots of western, Thai and Vietnamese options. Kai Grata varities, traditional western breakfasts and also congee and other things like claypot rice.

It is a super busy place, be prepared to sit and wait for a table, no reservations as Bourdain (RIP) liked, and you sit close to other people, too close for my liking. But then this is an in and out place. The orange juice was fresh and superb btw. Budget about 500 for two people.

To cap it all there is also a second breakfast restaurant that is very similar, called "Good Morning Saraphi". Superb menu as well, very similar, also Vietnamese sandwiches and western fare, plus congee and the like, however, no ham and cheese toastie.

That Saneha would have been hard to beat anyway. However, Good Morning Saraphi is not as busy which is nice, and the tables are more spaced out, though still a small place, like Saneha. Somewhat cheaper, 400 for two people.
