I was misled by a Rotten Tomatoes score of 97% and an IMDb rating of 7.9 into watching Sinners last night.

Two hours and 17 minutes later, still no payoff. Watching paint dry would’ve been time better spent.

Sinners (2025) - IMDb

Yeah I've also heard great things about that movie.

So you didn't like it. I'm still going to give it a go.

I just finished secrets we keep

It began as a regular Nordic series, ended up in a pretty dark place. Well worth a wet Sunday aftenoons binge viewing.

Thanks for the heads up @recom273. I'll have a look at Secrets We Keep.

I decided to download and watch a movie from a few years ago called "Ronin", the one which starred Robert De Niro and Jean Reno, amongst others, and although I remembered parts of it, it was still an enjoyable movie.

What surprised me when I was looking up its history (online) was that although it made a profit after all the costs, it was only a small one compared to other movies of that ilk! Also some critics didn't like it so it didn't seem to get the following it should have done?

I thought series 1 was weak and the two main characters were very wooden.

Both criticisms are valid but compared to the rest of the junk available, it's at least watchable.

I stopped watching it after the second episode because I'm not keen on watching gays being rodgered or having a dinner party for one thing, secondly Ben Wishaw exhibits many of the characteristics that I remember from his character "Norman Scott" in the series, "A Typical English Scandal" and it doesn't seem that he can shake them off.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh, but if I refer to Tom Hanks and the different characters he portrays in his movies, without any one of them reflecting on the other, then you may see what I mean.

As if to confound the issue, Keira Knightley with her increasingly annoying smile (or attempt at one) just gets on my nerves, so having downloaded the series, I will now delete it.

Good choice, I watched the whole thing and regretted it. Just a millenial mess.

I thought it was wildly overpraised but still okay. It started off strong but then turned into a ridiculous zombie movie.

My absolutely favorites of the past years:

Yellowstone
Hells on Wheels
Big Bang Theory ... not everybody gets it, watch from 1st Episode to get it.
Firefly - Serenity
Two and a Half men until the Kutscher Diot came for Charly
Married with children, for sure
STAR TREK - Strange New Worlds
The Orville - Star Trek a bit different

atm i am watching LOUDERMILK .... nice series about an Ex Alcoholic speaking things out and just giving two fxxx about what ppl  think about it 😎

Not very much into the newer series, most of them are mainstream cr4p, making ppl belive its totally normal changing your gender and in every series having at least one gay couple of men

yeah, its in my list of the Top 10 for sure. Finally great StarTrek again. The Orville is not bad too, but Strange New Worlds are a different number, i am loving La'an Noonien Singh and Anson Mount fits in perfectly with J.T.Kirk, Picard and yes, I liked Archer too. Not so much this constantly whining wannabe half Vulcan Michael  from Discovery...never managed to watch it really...

Big shame there will be no more star trek Picard.

There is a 3rd season of Strange New Worlds coming soon too, looking forward to it, had no idea about a new Orville season. Kind of like Seth McFarlane 🙂  StarTrek Picard i only watched the first 2 seasons, 3rd one is out already but have not managed to watch yet. It had some intresting points, reminds me a bit of the first Bladerunner, like how do we know if we are Replicants or just some spacedust
