Pattaya is all set for its largest music festival in 2025, with tight security plans and road closures in place to ensure crowd safety and manage traffic. Thousands are expected to attend the Pattaya Music Festival, and police are preparing thoroughly.

 

Top officials gathered on March 3rd at Pattaya City Hall to nail down the security and traffic arrangements. The meeting was led by Police Colonel Patikorn Sornchai, Deputy Commander of Chon Buri Provincial Police, alongside Pattaya City Clerk Kiattisak Sriwongchai. Pattaya Police, Bang Lamung Police, and other agencies were also present.

 

A robust security force of 611 personnel will be deployed throughout the festival area. This includes police officers, city inspectors, rescue teams, marine units, tourist police, and volunteers.

 

 

“Our goal is to ensure festivalgoers enjoy the event safely while keeping the city running smoothly,” said an official.

 

Beach Road will be closed daily from 3 pm to 1 am, affecting areas from the Dolphin Roundabout to Nipa Lodge, but traffic from Central Pattaya to Wat Chai will remain open. An emergency lane will be set up for quick medical and security response.

 

The Pattaya Music Festival attracts music fans, tourists, and partygoers from all over Thailand and beyond, offering top-notch performances and a lively atmosphere.

 

 

With security plans set, officials advise visitors to plan their travel and obey traffic rules for a smooth festival experience, reported The Thaiger.

So traffic will be even more horrible than it was last weekend, when as far as I'm aware no event was going on?

From Friday till Sunday traffic was in a complete deadlock, comparable with New Year's Eve or when the fireworks are on.

Last weekend was the Kite Festival.  Very popular.

What kind of music festival is this that it requires 600 people to keep order? Is it like the American night club where some homeboy gets dissed and then a gang war breaks out?

The e was a kite festival going on, but if that was the draw for all the traffic I find that surprising.

Leaving all major roads unsupervised: so no change there then.  What date so I can plan avoidance tactic?

I remember the last big event before New years eve.

When the event ended they switched Pattaya central road to one way from beach road to Sukumvith road...............except the section between the traffic light at big c xtra and the traffic light at third road

I was in Pattaya until the 1st this month.

The kite festival weekend was nice but far from the crowds that the music festival will attract and still gridlocks everywhere.

Can it get any worse?

Obviously.

Will there ever be an off-season again?

Will I have to refrain visits to the worst of rainy season?

If thats the official figure it's a laughable exaggeration. Only went to it once and it was the worst concert experience here in 30 years. Ludicrous security, could not take bottles of water in, tops had to be cut off, umbrellas were a no no as well, worse than airport security lines. Miserable atmosphere and mostly ghastly string and rap acts. Never again, went to 11 concerts last month and they were all better than the ones in Pattaya.

 

Just had a look at the line up from March 7th, apart from Bodyslam and Paradox never heard of any of the acts, no luktung or morlam and don't see any phua chee wit, would not cross the road to see any of it.

There is a terror alert issued by the U.S. embassy in Thailand for U.S. citizens in Thailand. Since the Uyghers were sent to China, Uygher sympathizers may attack Thailand, especially areas of tourist concentrations. Maybe the Thai government is exercising a rare example of it being proactive with it's show of force at the festival. Making knowledge of a possible terrorist attack public would be too much to ask as it might hurt tourist numbers.

Well, it's good to be prepared for the worse case. Hopefully there will be ambulances provided and first aiders stand by. And robust police as well

Probably just my old age but I can think of nothing good about it.  Major traffic jams, no place to park, BR sidewalk jammed people everywhere, such loud terrible sounding music it pierces your lungs. Terrible. I will avoid all of it as fortunately, I live far enough away.

At popular upcountry morlam concerts you might see military police with pump guns 😁

There is roadworks near walking street at the Second road and Pattaya Tai intersection with the middle lane unusable, that may have backed up Beach road a bit.

Any photo's? never saw this myself, security are almost always not real cops with battons, they often disappear if any trouble starts

Agree about the line-up. I was hoping to have heard of at least one of the acts, but sadly no.

I remember when they used to have a Reggae / Ska stage but that's no more it seems.

(Do a search for "teddy ska band" - brilliant!)

 

Still, as I'm staying nearby (near Soi Bukhau) I shall take a Baht Bus up 2nd Road to Dolphin and walk down Beach Rd but if it's like last year's festival, I probably won't be stopping much, sadly.

The opening act Bamm, it's al pretty much the same genre throughout, pap music. Teddy ska were good but it's not Thai music, it's Thais playing Caribbean music, well they did originally they seem to have gone more rock.

I get your comment about Teddy Ska, although I think they did write most of their music. I love Ska though.
