They had to stop her because she was going to win and upset the Apple cart just as Trump has done, same in Romania, and they changed the rules in Austria... the EU leftists are panicking because  'right' are gaining in popularity everywhere because the people are few up with being treaded as second class citizens.

Surprise! That's exactly what Russia is claiming.... 😆

  • The idea that holding politicians accountable turns a democracy into a banana republic needs to be thrown out the window. The French have it right. Former French president Sarkosy is currently on tria

  • Humorous that Europe thinks they still have free elections. They are as democratic as thailand

  • A justified verdict. Kudos to the judge for not caving into political pressure. Embezzling money from the EU, especially when you are anti-EU, to help finance one's own political ambitions, is siniste

Funny how none of the arguments is 'she's not guilty '. It's about 'i don't care'.

Because America's vital interests are involved in this case? Funny how your standards for US engagement in Europe vary depending  on the issue in question.

Huh? What ever are you trying to say, other than apparently trolling for an argument.

I'm talking about your orange Looser, Putin's Governor in north America.

The loopholes are clearly explained in the articles I quoted and linked to, so do you have reading issues?

Seems clear enough. You advocate for America's disengagement from Europe. But when it comes to an issue that you feel strongly about, even though it has no bearing on the interests of the United States, you advocate for forceful intervention.

Where did I call for intervention LOL. English is not your first language evidently.

Good point. Its not like they have a fair system of justice there.

You pushed for a 50% tariff on France because of the verdict in this case. How is punishing France for a judicial verdict not an intervention?

I mean if you look at it, what does France give us? Wine and Cheese? Bochum French press? Guess the cocktail parties for the Yale faculty are gonna get more expensive.

Can you see the conversion:

"It's so despicable, Trump's tariffs have raised the price of Fussy Poossy to $50 a bottle. How are we going to have the party to celebrate Muhammed Xs new Book "Kill all Capitalists" if we have to buy a case of that. What? No!!!!! What do you think we are, factory workers? They wont reelect me as Chairperson of the Transgender Education Committee for Pre Schoolers. Box wine indeed!! Maybe some Bud Light. Damn Trump and his tariffs on the French, why should WE suffer instead of his mouth breathing box wine drinking cult supporters. O well, I can save on the cheese, its laid out unwrapped so no one will know its from Wisconsin and even Professor Arschloche-Perpetua cant tell the difference. He will be giving the talk on 'Intersectionality and the Issue of Post Modernist Gender Assumptions among Amazon Poison Dart Frogs'. Cant wait to see you! I stashed some of the French stuff for me and you later".

Instead of good Le Maroc, sounds like you’ve already been on some bad Soapbar.

I'm French and I read that democracy is over in France. But democracy means "no one is above the law." Protecting the powerful isn't democratic. Political decision? No, she was tried for embezzling €4 million in public funds for her party. Any "ordinary" person would already be in prison.

That's harsh but that's the law. It has been voted after some corruption scandal and is very strict. Politicians from a party supporting Macron have been previously sanctioned for exactly the same reason.

Le Pen's problem is that, as she is a autocratic party leader, she decides and give orders about the way the money is spent, which person to recruit, etc... so there is unambiguous written evidence. Unlike the current case about Sarkozy, there is no need for interpretation as there is significant written evidence.

The irony is that, like most other far-right politician, she's been complaining for years about corrupt and roten politicians and has been calling for a strict application of laws! 😆

Under certain circumstances, loosers have forgotten how to read.

Do you think everyone must have English as their first language? There are more non-English speakers in the world than English speakers. Whereby more not "first english" speaking people speak English, unlike Americans, for example, speak a second language.

Why, to confirm your politics? Why would I want to speak that? Better off learning Hebrew.

If you would speak my 1st language as well, as I speak english, you could answer me like that. But what can you? MAGAish.

No...she was not going to win in the next election. A sizable majority of the French electorate are adamantly opposed to her ever succeeding to the Presidency, as evidenced by the willingness of the left to set aside their differences and form the Nouveau Front Populaire in order to block her from doing so.

I see that you know French politics ( As said above, I am French ) , you are right

In the first round, the RN has a strong chance of being in the lead, but for the second round, opponents from all sides will go to prevent them from being in power, Le Pen has already lost 3 elections (as well as her father) for this reason.

Punish? Naw, the better word would be deter enemies,  they are ripping us off with their  tarriffs so here is more back, with some added because  they are a bunch of dictatorial Putin wannabes. We need them for nothing.

So France is an enemy because it's judiciary found Lepin guilty? Or it was an enemy before but now it's even more of an enemy because of the Lepin verdict?  And you claim that enemies are deterred by this action but it's not a punishment?

"Punishment, commonly, is the imposition of an undesirable or unpleasant outcome upon an individual or group, meted out by an authority[1][2][3][4][5]—in contexts ranging from child discipline to criminal law—as a deterrent to a particular action or behavior that is deemed undesirable.[6]"

It's laughable that you questioned my command of English.

I think its time to 50% tariff all products from France.

Japan, Korea and China are working on a free trade agreement, let's extend that to the EU.
