And you've admitted driving after a few beers so practice what you preach.

Oh hold on, you'd just call your policeman buddy and ask for a get out of jail free card.

Hypocrite...

I am convinced he just likes to argue and or complain.

Severe personality flaw.

Try answering a question instead of asking one which is both none of your business and unprovable no matter the answer.

That not true.

i have regards for others which is why I am a big advocate for driving safely and carefully after having a few.
And as a result I have probably driven after having a few, as do 75% of expats in Thailand do, at least 600 times in my life without any incident.

The problem with some drink drivers is they go a bit silly and drive less safely after having a few, which I strongly oppose.

They drive less safely after a few drinks, isn't that sort of like you driving after a few drinks?

Hypocrite

Quote & accuse accurately -  I’ve admitted to driving after 2 beers….

… Until I realised that ‘might’ nudge me over the DUI limit…. That was a while ago.

But if someone close to me stuffs up.., yes, I’ll help however I can. ….  Im

somewhat of a hypocrite that way.

Large or small?

I’ve explained this to you before & you twist it every chance you get.

Out with a mixture of Thai & Western friends… Driver had 2x glasses of wine.

Police stop - wanted driver to blow into the ‘wand’ which recognises the presence of alcohol but not the level.

If presence of alcohol on the breath is identified the BiB want a bribe - or the driver waits (however long - >1 hour) & is taken to the station for a proper breathalyser measurement.

The ‘bribe’ is to avoid the song & dance.

The ‘phone call’ is to avoid the game.

This has happened twice - both drivers no longer drink at all when they drive.

So - for BJ71 - wanna know who I am ?

’someone who happens to have friends & will help a friend’…..

...break the law, using corrupt police behaviour as an excuse.

Small… (320ml)

2x 620ml (5%) large beers is enough to put anyone over a DUI limit.

85kg male - A beer every 30mins = calculated BAC of 0.077% at 1 hour.

2x 320ml (5%) = 0.036% BAC at 1 hour.

you seem to be knowledgable about BAC, you should take note of your own knowledge rather than rely on your police buddy to help out when you get caught driving drunk.

I’m not sure a couple of beers would have put them (friends) over the limit - we just didn’t want to deal with the ‘ensuing theatre’ of the BiB messing us about if the ‘wand’ detected the presence of alcohol.

… so yes..  we used corruption to avoid having our time wasted.

Perhaps that’s as bad as regularly driving well over the legal limit & / or while stoned over 600 times….

You can make that evaluation.

During the New Year holiday period from December 27, 2024, to January 5, 2025, there were 2,467 road accidents resulting in 436 deaths and 2,376 injuries. Speeding was identified as the leading cause of these accidents, accounting for 38.9% of the total, followed by drunk driving at 31.6%

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2931765/road-deaths-reach-272-after-6-dangerous-days?utm_source=chatgpt.com

During the 2018 Songkran festival, drunk driving accounted for 42% of road accidents.

https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/30343266?utm_source=chatgpt.com

During the 2023 Songkran festival, speeding was responsible for 36.67% of accidents.

So... You are quite right - for the most part, speed itself kills more than drink driving alone...

But, the manner in which you isolate speed as a killer while suggesting drink driving is not as serious because "you drive carefully" highlights an extreme level of stupidity, carelessness and outright selfishness.

Low speed collisions with cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists at speeds as low as 30 km/h (around 19 mph) are often fatal - and thats ignoring the life changing injuries that can be caused.

Your lack of acceptance of these basic facts further highlights your mental flaws.

Nothing to do with speed, none whatsoever. It's the stopping, and how that's achieved that's delivering the injuries and deaths, not the speed.

Repurposing the quote from Collateral (movie with Tom Cruise) ?

Max: You killed him?

Vincent: No, I shot him. Bullets and the fall killed him.
