A violent domestic dispute in Pattaya has left an Indian national hospitalised after his Thai girlfriend allegedly stabbed him with a piece of broken glass during a heated altercation in the early hours of 14 April.

At approximately 00:05, emergency services from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation received a report of a violent incident at an apartment complex located in Soi Krom Tidin 6, Pattaya, Chonburi Province. Rescue volunteers, along with officers from Pattaya City Police Station, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, responders found a 43-year-old Indian man, identified as the owner of the apartment building, with stab wounds to his left chest and arm. He was covered in blood and visibly terrified, running through the corridors of the complex in a panic. Blood stains were seen splattered throughout the building. The man reportedly rushed toward emergency personnel begging for help. First aid was administered before he was urgently transported to hospital.

The suspect, a 29-year-old Thai woman referred to as “Mod” was detained at the scene and brought in for questioning. She told officers that the injured man was her boyfriend and that they had been drinking beer together in their apartment when the situation escalated.

According to Ms. Mod, her boyfriend became aggressive without warning, pulling her hair and striking her on the head with a beer bottle. She claimed to have repeatedly pleaded with him to stop, but to no avail. In the struggle, the beer bottle shattered. In self-defence, she said she grabbed a shard and stabbed him.

Following the stabbing, the man reportedly fled the room in a panic, running through the apartment building covered in blood. Ms. Mod said she called out for him to come back down but he continued to run until police and rescue workers arrived.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the apartment complex to determine the full circumstances of the incident. Authorities stated that they will wait until the Indian man is in a stable condition before conducting a formal interview, in order to ensure fairness for both parties.

I suspect this is a guy who now knows Thai girls are different!

So just your traditional domestic dispute. No Ladyboys or gold chains in this one then? :coffee1:

I can read that many here take offense regarding the woman´s action. What do you really know? What we do know, is that men from India have a terrible view of women. I might very well be like he did pull her hair and was hitting her. What should she do according to you guy who blame the woman without having any facts? Just stand there, shut up and take the beating?

If it is like she say, then it´s clearly self defense. Also, as the guy was running around with a stab wound to the chest and arm, I guess it wasn´t fatal. Seems like he was in quite good condition. Even if he wasn´t, that does not change the fact that she might be telling the truth.

I don't read that at all, and if you had, you'd have quoted the poster.

As far as I can tell, a normal Thai domestic where the guy gets seriously injured by the woman.

Here it´s a sarcastic comment about the woman´s action.

And this is generalizing, but also specific as there is only one woman in the story.

I know this isn't the gist of the article, but how does an Indian man own an apartment building in Thailand?

Suppose this commentator and the person who gave it a thumbs up has never bought beer before.

Clearly this man's a coward, running thru the building screaming like a little girl, begging the paramedics for help.

Should've just taken it like a real man.

He deserved it.

How do you not know there are many Indians who have Thai citizenship ?

That seems unlikely. Why would that be the case?

Without any criticism of the AN news team who I understand work hard to bring us information and news sourced from many different recognised and reputable news sources.....

We have just the one side of the story from Ms. Mod, but no comment from other party.

I'm not sure we should take one version of events as fact, rather, both sides would need to be considered for better evaluation of events.

I'd be interested to hear what the Indian man had to say - and suggest that the truth is somewhere between both events.

Hundreds of thousands Indians have Thai citizenship.  Wake up and get out of your shell.

It's a big country and Indians are extremely rare in the north let alone citizens.

There are.  But then they should be referred to as Thai.

Lots in Chiang Mai which is in the North definitely not rare.

Or plastic bags, lots of nice very drinkable wines now sold in thicker plastic bags. Taste is fine (to me).

I think you're just making up numbers. They give citizenship to how many people per year? I can't get a clear figure but it needs to be signed off in the Royal Gazette apparently. I think the numbers are in the hundreds per year so hundreds of thousands of Indians seems unlikely to  me. Whatever though post numbers if you have them.

There's a couple of quite decent Indian restaurants in CM.
