This kind nonsense never ceases to amaze me.  Where do these idiots come from?  Where were they raised?  Can you really just write it off to being drunk? I don't think so.

People making this argument ignore the fact that cannabis is quite often used in combination with alcohol and other drugs.

I did try cannabis + opium, it changed the 30 mins then sleep to 5 mins then sleep.

And the sleep had some really vivid dreams.

A drunken incident by a foreign tourist ended in swift retribution after he assaulted a female bar worker and mocked Muay Thai, only to be knocked down by a bouncer and then roughed up by a furious crowd. The incident, which occurred late on 15 April, has since gone viral on social media and sparked widespread debate about tourist behaviour in Thailand.

According to police reports and multiple eyewitness accounts, the tourist, accompanied by another intoxicated foreigner, entered a Pattaya bar, in Soi 6 and began behaving aggressively. The man was seen groping a female staff member and lifting her off the ground, causing her head to strike an air-conditioning unit. Another employee, a newly hired female server, was also reportedly harassed and has since refused to return to work.

The bar’s two security guards, identified as “Non”, 36, and “Nick”, 37, attempted to defuse the situation and escort the men out of the venue. The manager, a woman named “Phrae”, 37, also stepped in to calm things down. Despite these efforts, the tourists continued to harass customers and staff, ultimately pouring beer over a guard’s head in a provocative act.

Matters escalated when the disruptive foreigner began challenging people to a Muay Thai fight, further taunting the guards and patrons. It was at this point that one of the bouncers lost patience and delivered a single punch to the man’s face, knocking him off his feet. Bystanders, both Thai nationals and other foreigners, then joined in, delivering additional blows as the man lay stunned on the ground.

Police were called, and the incident is now under investigation by officers at Pattaya City Police Station. Deputy Inspector Pol. Lt. Arut Saphanon confirmed that CCTV footage has been reviewed and statements have been taken from the bar’s staff. The foreign nationals involved have yet to file a formal complaint or report to authorities.

The bar has voluntarily closed its doors temporarily as a gesture of accountability and to allow for a thorough investigation. Local officials, including Bang Lamung district officers, have visited the premises and praised the venue’s cooperation.

In a statement, the security guards expressed regret that the situation escalated to violence but asked for public understanding, citing the extreme provocation they faced. “We tried everything to avoid a confrontation,” one said. “But after the assault and continued harassment, we had to protect ourselves and others.”

Yeah, in instead of harrassing folks in Soi 6, proper gentlemen have stuffed bellies and are asleep mouth open and drooling in a chair with the a wisp of smoke still coming out of the bong, dog eared copy of Gravity's Rainbow open on the floor, cat pretending those buds are catnip toys...

Alcohol and meth override all.

the taunting went on for over 10 minutes.

they had plenty of time to just call the police.

bull<deleted>.... he was drunk and disruptive but not violent. Egging people on does not make those people less responsible for assaulting that man. Security was supposed to diffuse the situation.. Not escalate it into a street brawl.

This is where they go too far and make Thailand look bad.  They even attacked his friend who was trying to deescalate.  They probably would have killed him if people didn't intervene.

Maybe I've been here too long, but seems like a very efficient way to neutralize problems of this nature.

It's a good way of reducing tourism.

If this turns out to be the only such incident over Songkran it will be amazing!  Far worse happens every weekend in provincial towns across the UK!

The article is about Thailand,  not the UK.

It's so weird the way that everyone has formed a circle around him.  I wonder how it got that far.

Just watch Thai news, plenty of shootings, young lads brandishing guns during Songkran, everyday occurrence.

He means with a foreigner.  When Thai people do it, it's ok and normal.  When foreign people do it, it shows how bad foreign people are.  (That's just how some people view this place.  Thai = good, foreigner = bad.)

First a hero and then got what he deserved , foreigners who have no respect for Thailand and Thais and their holiday and do not know how to drink do not come here, only a fist awaits you here

Seems to have been written by a foreigner who is desperate to criticise other foreigners.  Probably doesn't realise how this actually makes Thailand look bad.

I doubt most Thais would want this sort of message shared.

Watch the longer video that I linked. He was carrying on like Russell Crowe in Gladiator: "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?".

Yeah, but why do that?  That seems to be something that would just make him worse.  Give him an audience, and he's going to act up for them.  Ignore him and tell him to go away, and it's more likely to be diffused.  Or call the police.

It also made Thais more aggravated and gave them a chance to gang up and attack.

They need to learn how to diffuse things or end them quickly and safely.  There must be a step between doing nothing and a gang of men trying to smash his face in.

When the security guys first started circling around him like sharks in dirty water if he had a brain the size of a pea he would have read the landscape and backed off, but instead he wanted his few moments of fame. I bet it didn't seem such a good idea when he woke up this morning all sore and aching. 😂

Quite an odd situation.  He actually didn't seem to realise the danger he was in, even after squaring up to men approaching him.  Like through all that, where you can see multiple men wanting to fight him, he didn't actually think that they would fight him.
