With so much/many contradictions, lies and falsehoods "some" of the maga's cronies, many who voted for him are starting to be fed up with his constant lies, resolutions by some of his appointed/ assigned members of some departments, the DOGE actions and the immigration mistakenly made, student visa removals and so many more, too many to report each of them.

The good thing is the opposition just has to be patient and wait for the middle term elections, 2 years and he will be gone, there will be light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there

The biggest expense items in the federal budget are Medicare and Social Security. Trump and Musk are working on privatizing them, which opens up new opportunities for corruption. Modern day carpetbaggers.

Be very nervous if you are getting any SS payments.

Not likely but with the way things are going the republicans might be forced to grow a spine and do the right thing.

It's like "flat earth". It's just a matter of perception.

Your perception of reality doesn't make it reality.

But I'm not saying you're wrong.

Am I confusing you?

I was just amazed by the Town Hall meeting with the lady from Alaska Mulovski (something like that) who is one of the few to dare to vote against some policies. She actually said that Republican politicians are afraid because retaliation is real !

I don't know where you are getting your info from, AFAIK SS is still taxable, depending on circumstances like combined income.

Perhaps you are relying on a Trump promise.

" I will end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours".

" I will bring living costs down".

" I will bring manufacturing back to America".

Don't hold your breath.

Passed in Senate, and appoved in the House ...

From TH or when you go back to OZ ... you keep in touch with a lot of Yanks in the USA, do you ?

All you non Yanks not living in USA, telling us how we are so unhappy.   My family & friends that live in the USA, will disagree with you.  All like Trump being President instead of Harris.

Thais & Aussies, who also don't live or vote in the USA ...

While you have a laugh, I'll have chuckle myself ...

30% of American polled expressed "a great deal" of confidence in Trump. ONLY 7% EXPRESSED A GREAT DEAL OF CONFIDENCE IN THE DEMOCRATIC LEADERS IN CONGRESS.

TRUMP HAS OVER 4 TIMES THE SUPPORT OF DEMOCRATIC LEADERS (LOSERS LIKE SHUMMER & PELOSI & AOC)

and so it was said...

“We’re going to win. We’re going to win so much. We’re going to win at trade, we’re going to win at the border. We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning, you’re going to come to me and go ‘Please, please, we can’t win anymore.’ You’ve heard this one. You’ll say ‘Please, Mr. President, we beg you sir, we don’t want to win anymore. It’s too much. It’s not fair to everybody else.’” Trump said. “And I’m going to say ‘I’m sorry, but we’re going to keep winning, winning, winning, We’re going to make America great again.

And so it was done. Trump reigned supreme. Equilibrium, balance and merit were back. The world baulked in surprise then prospered like never before. Liberals had a hissy fit. It was glorious.  From the gospel of MAGA  1.51

President Donald Trump is closing out the first quarter of his second term in office with an average 45% job approval rating, higher than the 41% earned in his first term but well below all other post-World War II presidents elected in the U.S. The average first-quarter rating for all presidents elected from 1952 to 2020 is 60%.

...

Trump is the only president to have sub-50% average approval ratings during a first quarter in office.

Hmm, lots of talk, yet didn't see in the tax bill anything about removing tax from SS.

The Trump acolyte's seem to live on his words, less so on his actions

Lots of claims of exposing corruption., The evidence they repeatedly unearth that they claim exposes corruption time and time again turns out to be nothing of the sort. So far, they've got nothing.

Don't hold your breath.

Promises like these are made by all politicians to get elected. Some are followed through, some aren't. His ego says he can do whatever he wants, but common sense says no. Impossible to end a war in a day unless you used nuclear weapons and the other side said, ok, you win. Bringing living costs down takes a long time, and this is another promise that probably won't work. As far as SS, no one in their right minds would stop paying 70 million Americans because it would be a death sentence for whoever tried. Cutting out false payments and firing unnecessary workers is a given, if they are unnecessary. Trump is a very strange character, fueled by his wealth, most of which he made by help from others, and even his supporters know what kind of person he is. Let's see if this second term redeems or buries him.
