You are ignoring the  known fact that the child who was a U.S. citizen  suffering from a rare form of metastatic cancer was forcibly removed without medication or the ability to consult with their treating physicians–despite ICE being notified in advance of the child’s urgent medical needs. What part of the child protection laws do you not understand that places the safety of the child  primary to the   alleged claim that the child belonged with the parents?  

 

Whether or not the child will return to the USA is irrelevant. The child was removed without its required medication and its immediate safety was put at risk. The child will most likely die without medical care. The child was sent to a country that  will not be able to provide the healthcare that  the child was receiving.

 

The removed families had no choice in the matter. The manner of removal demonstrates that ICE arranged the  removal process with the intent to deny access to legal assistance and to deny the US citizen children to have access to due process. The court filings state that ICE detained the first family on Tuesday, April 22, and the second family on Thursday, April 24. In both cases, ICE held the families incommunicado, refusing or failing to respond to multiple attempts by attorneys and family members to contact them. In one instance, a mother was granted less than one minute on the phone before the call was abruptly terminated when her spouse tried to provide legal counsel’s phone number. The families  were completely isolated during critical moments when decisions were being made about the welfare of their minor children. This included decisions with serious implications for the health, safety, and legal rights of the children involved–without any opportunity to coordinate with caretakers or consult with legal representatives.  The actions were in direct violation of ICE’s own written and informal directives, which mandate coordination for the care of minor children with willing caretakers–regardless of immigration status–when deportations/removals are being carried out.

 

You  say that it sounds like the parents took the children without notifying the doctor. Wrong. The mother tried to  have the medical authority  contacted and ICE refused.  It is nice that you acknowledge that US citizens  should not be forcibly removed from the USA.  However, that is what occurred here. There was no effort to act in the child's best interest. Even in draconian states like Texas, a court will appoint a  person to represent a minor when there is a serious  proceeding. The appointee is there to ensure that the child's rights are respected. This did not occur.  

 

You know what it looks like? You are attempting to cover up and make excuses for a catastrophic blunder by the local ICE office. Even the most extreme right wing of SCOTUS judges are going to have a hard time supporting what was  an unconstitutional and illegal act. Sending a  sick US citizen to suffer and probably die in a foreign land is not going to play well with most people.

About America being the greatest, I'd take issue with that. It USED to be the GOAT just after WW II, creating the most robust economy in the written history of the planet. A single earner could raise a family, send kids to nice schools, buy a car, etc.  However, it's been going steadily downhill since. This decline has been accelerated with the SCOTUS decision to let dark money into politics, and now both sides of the aisle are more beholden to their corporate masters than their constituents. As a result we have entered A Golden Age 2.0.

 

Can the US get back to a more fair and equitable state of being? Hope springs eternal but I wouldn't bet on it happening for at least two or three generations from now - if ever. The militarization of the police force (and this has been happening under Dems and Reps alike) has created an atmosphere of societal submission. Once in power, politicians are reluctant to let it go. Time will tell.

Well, what you say makes a lot of sense however, without doing more research, I would wager that the global economic conditions just following WWII were quite unique and in order to participate in WWII America had to mobilize a bunch of people and increase it's manufacturing infrastructure which I am fairly certain was easily converted into making cheap domestic made goods - post war. Big ticket items like cars etc all the way down to refrigerators and kitchen appliances were easy to manufacture because the war and urgency created the infrastructure and mobilized a huge work force which included women. The war, I would wager, was pretty much responsible for this acceleration and "golden age" of the American economy where the average middle class working joe could buy a house and retire with a pension etc etc. Another thing to take into account. The global population at the time was about half of todays. This would also be a factor, off the top of my head.

All this to say that global economic conditions and other global factors, population etc would play into USA's thriving post war.

USA population is very different today too:

 

In 1950, a few years after World War II, the population of the United States was approximately 151.3 million.

As of today, Friday, May 16, 2025, the population of the United States is estimated to be around 347.0 million.

 

So, to conclude, while USA was the GOAT after WWII, this was primarily BECAUSE of WWII IMHO. To sustain that sweet spot would just about be impossible given how things have changed over time globally. I have a hard time believing that dark money was completely responsible but it sure didn't help much. The lobbying system in USA politics is darn near criminal in my view and is too powerful. As  a result. Corporatocracy is about set it ... again IMHO. Big business runs the country no matter which party is in power, however I really believe that if you look carefully at the politicians from both sides it becomes obvious that right wing politicians are way more self serving on average. People like Bernie Sanders, AOC, Obama where obviously less self interested than any MAGA right winger. They are so full of irony it (as I've said before) is easily open for all manners of comedians to makes some pretty damn funny material.

 

IMHO It would take some very very powerful economic forces to return to the global economic conditions following WWII that no president of the USA could recreate.

 

What do you think? You seem like a bright person so, I would assume you know that Trump making claims about "MAGA" especially returning the USA to the post WWII economy is just plain propaganda for the slow thinkers who feel like victims out there.

 

PS. Yes GYNA means China. Trump has some kind of wierd way of saying certain words. One of them is China. He pronounces it Gyna.

 

PSS: I just did an AI lookup of why post WWII USA did so well, it confirmed what I said as well as added a few things I didn't consider. One thing is for sure. WWII was pretty much responsible for USA becoming the economic powerhouse that it was in the 1950's
