Think of it as cheap therapy. The arrangement allows the sex worker to have a comfortable lifestyle with a minimum of effort. This practice has been going on since time started.

 

There's nothing wrong with it and I would not be surprised if she had a few bf.

 

It's a win win in my books.  He has a partner waiting for him does not have to search.

It's not really cheating, it's a potential loss of income.
Everyone has to live.  Everyone has to make their choices on where their money comes from, and where it goes.
