Well 25 posts in just over 36 hours indicates a lot of pent up enthusiasm.

Sky Train..... hmm, I only ever hear it called the BTS by Bangkok regulars/permanents or whatever.

Whenever a foreigner is sat down, there is always an empty space next to him/her. Sometimes I've even seen when a foreigner takes a seat next to a Thai they immediately up and move to another seat. I was just on a short trip on a boat and met some classy Taiwanese women there and they couldn't get enough of me, asking questions, friendly, curious, one of them even asked for my phone number, which I politely declined. Definitely a stark contrast between the two experiences, and one that has given me food for thought!.

Taiwan people are the most friendly to be found anywhere. Thais less so but they are, nevertheless, amiable and, mostly, fun to know. I have not had your experience on the SkyTrain in Bangkok.

All  that extra space just for the farang. Must be like travelling First Class.

Yes indeed,  those places are there precisely for the farangs, understand that, it indicates the country's hospitality.

I'm 75 & fully abled. Thais often get up to offer me the elder seat. I sometimes take it. And I always get up to offer it to those in more need than I.

The OP should head to any dark soi in Pattaya and within 30 seconds at least 3 pretty Thai ladies will come sit next to him… :coffee1:

Can I make a slight addition to your comment, "3 pretty Thai ladies will come sit next to him and his wallet". 😄

Yes, it's very peculiar behavior isn't it?

Not if you've spent a meaningful amount of time in Thailand.

You'd be the foreigner...  🤦‍♂️

Never been to Kobe. And my name is Tuco, can't you see that?

I just strayed into this thread.

The responses from "Tuco" exhibit classic Bob/Elvis/Don characteristics.  Bob/Elvis/Don/Tuco - you can change your name but you make no effort to change your personality.

And why do you feel you need to hide behind different identities, changing to a new one each time you are comprehensively rumbled?  Be yourself for once, like everyone else here.

really?? which train is this?

The Fantasy Island Express

It is true, and it's mostly the middle aged. The young and elder crowd doesn't mind. It goes back to whoever that was that said foreigners are the ones likely to spread Covid. Suppressed are easy to brainwash.

Not my experience at all. So I consider your whole post nonsensical.

In another life (30 yeas ago), I lived in China and experienced this there.
It was explained that we eat dairy products, primarily milk and smell.

mate, with that amount of bigotry and xenophobia emanating from you i wouldn't sit next to you either. next.
