Hua Hin is likely the most expensive town in Thailand, for renting a GF. If they are young and hot they command 30-35k a month, (plus dental, medical, cosmetics, food, clothing, etc, etc.) and there are plenty of affluent guys who will pay that.

I have actually friends in Hua Hin, who all have a woman who is working in normal jobs.

 

It dependes on who you frequently socialize with. And those who are not working, we do not ask where they meet, or what she did before. Gentleman's rule and not Important to know.

 

Very few I met had ladies who acted like bar girls usually do, or the way some here thinks bar girls is like. 

 

However, can't read the article, but guess it is the same reproduced crap that's being recycled

Seems very cheap compared to what you would pay in a nursing home in the West.  And no sex there either.

That's a ghost town, managed a few days there before moving on. That's a S hole when it comes to nightlife

I never understood Cha Am on any level. Just don't get it. Not interesting at all. Just a beach resort for Thai tourists and the few guys who curiously bought condos there. No charm at all. 

 

I like Hua Hin. Great food, shopping, resorts, and some action, if you have the attitude of a Yukon prospector in the 1890s. Not like it used to be. But, that applies to most of Thailand. Usually a nugget here and there to be unearthed.

I haven't met one who didn't start ask for money quite early in the relationship for one awkward reason, and which ended the relationship momentarily.

 

I have travelled with quite a few freelancers, but then we had an agreement we didn't need to talk about. It's just common sense, and not really needed to ask how much they want. You just give them money to send home, or do what they want to do with them. And when you go home, it ends there, because they go back to their life as it was, and nothing is really changed.

 

If you want a gf, you need to stay with them, or they have to prove themselves and move away from the bar/nightlife scene, which for some others will not change anything, they just go back to family and continue partying there.

Back or topic, I like Hua Hin, always nice to have an afternoon beer while sitting in the warehouse restaurant overlooking the fishing boats.

Do you get that aroma of raw sewage that ruins many scenic places in LOS?  I used to kayak off Jomtien and it was gorgeous until I crossed an inlet near my hotel.  The stench ruined the ambience.

 

 

In my experience, the average bargirl in Hua Hin is not all that young.  At least not compared to Pattaya.  If someone was going to Thailand just for that I would tell them to stick with Pattaya.  Hua Hin seems to attract a bit higher quality expat because of that.  Guys who are not there just for that or are looking for a more long term arrangement.

That is the niche of Hua Hin.  In Pattaya it is plain obvious that she is a prostitute.  In Hua Hin it is easier to delude yourself that she is not.

Been to Hua Hin many times, never any bad smells.

It's a nice, but fairly quiet, family resort.
