The notorious Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet, has emerged as the world's preeminent hub for opium and synthetic drug production

Always has been, makes you wonder why after all these decades it still continues 🙄

. In another instance, former TUI stewardess Charlotte May Lee was reportedly captured in Sri Lanka carrying 46kg of high-grade Kush, worth approximately £1.2 million

No excuses greed and easy 💰 🤑 money is a great temptation

Heavier sentences needed to deter the many thinking of doing the same

Might make some think first 🤔

They have written kush in all the articles, i guess it makes it sound like something special, rather then just saying cannabis

The unfolding saga of British tourists unwittingly caught in these webs serves as a stark reminder of the sophisticated and global nature of contemporary drug smuggling operations.

beard, those eyes...yea, he smokes

Brits come to LOS to dream of how to get super rich.  Rich beyond their wildest dreams!!!!!  No more backpacking, live your days on a beach drinking mango shakes.

All you have to do is get passed one of the most sophisticated drug catching systems, designed by 10,000 PhD's and software worth over 10 zillion dollars.

should be easy, Mate.  Let's give it a go......for my mum.

What's the wholesale price for multiple Kilos? 5,000? In addition to their legal challenges, they've also lost 250,000 baht.

Are there statistics on how many have made it into the UK from Thailand with a massive amount of marijuana without being caught? Because I can't see the risk-reward benefit to this endeavor.

Loads ... probably. But look they weren't even remanded into custody. Remember some convicted criminals only serve a third of the sentence in the UK. They might not even get prison time, a suspended sentence is possible. If they had been successful, it might have been the equivalent of 20 years' salary in profits.

Strange. I've read all the articles relating to this smuggling issue and this is the 1st time I've seen the word used. I had to Google it to find out what it meant.
