Advice On Moving Back To Pattaya

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I lived in Pattaya previously for over a year about one year ago. I was planning to move back to Pattaya, into the Central or Jomtein area.

However, I just saw a bunch of Youtube video's saying Pattaya getting real bad with people from India taking over, sleeping on the beach, using beach as a public toilet, etc, but I'm not sure if it's really that bad or if the video's are just focusing on negatives for attention. I don't like males from India much, but i do like the food.

How different is it from a year ago?

The Indians sleeping on the beach and using it as a toilet was a fake story.  But everything else about Pattaya is nasty.

Is it just talk or is it really a no-go? How different is it from a year ago?

Advice On Moving Back To Pattaya

Don’t.

Unless you like the idea of being involved in a probable mayhem incident.

There's another thread running fairly close to your topic called  "Moving a family to Pattaya from Bangkok".   I would check the comments there, paying attention to those from posters who actually live in Pattaya and know what they are talking about, as opposed to all the others who are, basically, totally clueless.   Paattaya is a large city with many different neighborhoods to choose from.  I live here year-round and have no problem--or interaction--with Indians, rowdy tourists, or the nightlife.  It's very easy to avoid them.

The level of Indian annoyance is not so different from a year ago.  They still don’t know how to walk in a civilized fashion, that hasn’t changed - but the annoyances are generally avoidable with only minor inconveniences.  My context is central Pattaya, have no idea about Jomtien.

So, by Indian's sleeping on benches, would that imply they've booted the brits off? 😋

No, we have an iron grip on the soi6 and similar venues.

Which is why it is so good now.

Really, guess I'm lucky with nearly 30 years here and no hassle.

Fake?

Yes, fake.

There were pictures/videos of what people were saying were Indian tourists sleeping and camping all over the beach. "The Indian invasion" etc etc.

Fake, because they were migrant workers who camped on the beach for one night while waiting for transport to work sites elsewhere in the country. One night only. Not tourists. And not Indian. Just fake news posted by people with an agenda, or - best case - people who are just ignorant and can't be bothered doing any research at all.

And yes, the migrant workers did leave the beach filthy.

If you want to spend majority of your time hanging on pattaya beach road and/or end of 2nd road near walking street AND don't like Indians, better not come.

But if you spend most of your time elsewhere, no issues even if you would not like Indians. In pratamnak where I live not much Indians.

Ignore the you tube videos and come and live in Pratumnak.  It has several beaches,  several bars, many restaurants and loads of pretty  girls.

What more could a person want?

And if you want the low-life you're only a 85 baht Bolt taxi ride from the hochmagandy zone!

No thanks. I tried that once. Walked in to view a condo in the Pratumnak Hill area. The area sucked so bad I did not view the condo. Say hello to the wild dingo's for me chump.

do you swim in the water there?  I used to like jomtien beaches but over the years the cleanliness of the water did not improve.  Would never swim in pattaya beach proper, but koh larn was fine.  Have not been in country since 2019 but heading there this july

I just read it and it makes me sick. I don't want Uk, blokes and dumb newbie bar girl stories. I'm tired if that crap.

It was fun at one time but it's no longer for me.

So why dont you move to Chiang Mai instead?

The Darkside is okay.  The rest now unfortunately not so much.

What you expect in Soi 6 or Walking Street? Civilized night entertainment?

Stay away and good.

On my regular visits I haven't been to Soi 6 or WS since years. Soi 6 never been for me.

Jomtien Beach Rd still a one way/construction.

What a mess. How many businesses will be killed?

Yeah  thats not very accurate though... just ramblings of a drunk moron.

I like Pattaya nightlife, but not drunk morons, germans, low class brits, dumb bargirl stories, working class guys from india, beaches as public toilets, etc etc.

They often go together, but they are not the same thing...

In other words, there are parts I like and don't like. I can't decide if the good outweighs the bad. That's why I was curious if things had gotten "worse" then a year ago.
