The holiday day is Thursday July 10 but I'm seeing a source saying the offices will be closed July 11 as well.

That makes sense to create a long weekend.

Bank holiday is the 10th. Again, not sure about the 11th.

Can someone confirm details about this?

Public sector offices always get a two day holiday on this holiday.  The private sector only gets the first day, because they got Labour Day (May 1) as a holiday, while the public sector did not.

10th is the dry day, 11th is an add-on freebie day off.

10th is Asanha Bucha, one of the highest Buddhist holidays.

11th is beginning of Buddhists lent (Khao Pansa). Not just a "freebie".

I think  both will be dry days

Thanks. Well there it is.

I was looking for that but for some reason didn't find it.

Question asked.

Question answered.

I have three immigration offices as my LINE "friends".

Chonburi and Korat are somewhat active.

Khon Kaen is useless/dead. Showing office location that has changed twice in the meantime.

While those who should know it first, the tourists, are the very ones who don't know about it.

How crazy do you want it in LOS.

I spoke to the Immigration Office in Kamphaeng Phet on Friday last week and they are closed on Thursday 10th, Friday 11th July and 12th and 13th as it is the weekend anyway. They will open again on Monday 14th July.

They are only a small office but I have no idea if it is a nationwide closure.

Google says no to 2 days

I would rather believe the Immigration office rather than Google, especially as I spoke to them on Friday last week.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if the bars in tourist zones are shut on both 10th and 11th?

Doesn't really concern me but I seem to recall a thread from around mid/late May when there was talk of relaxing the rules for certain tourist zones on religious holidays. Think it was a bit too late for the date in question but never heard anything further.

I was speaking to a bar/resto manager in Pattaya last night and he said he was still waiting for confirmation as last Buddha day apparently they were able to carry on serving. And they go strictly by the book.

I've just popped into my mate's bar in Lamai, Samui and same situation. He is waiting to hear from any reputable source.

Last time around they were not allowed to open but vibes are things might be relaxed this time around.
