The dollar is the official currency of five U.S. territories, along with 11 foreign countries, territories, and municipalities around the world. It's also the quasi-official currency of several other nations that, in addition to their local currency, commonly accept U.S. dollars.

In addition to being the world's most commonly used currency, the dollar is also the world's reserve currency. This means it's held in large quantities by central banks around the globe.1 Sometimes known as the greenback, the U.S. dollar is also one of the most commonly traded currencies on the foreign exchange market.

I'll speak for the 1%.   No.

Yes, there's a chance my family tree will fall out of the Top-1% in the next 398 years, which is why we must make an additional 11 billion before I pass.

The other 330,000,000 can worry, but that's not my problem.  The debt can go to 197 zillion for all I care, since I have investment banks taking care of me globally.  In fact, I hope it goes to 2198 zillion because then I can get even wealthier.  Please don't try to understand our game.  This is like an ant trying to understand Pluto.

Cash grab, everyone wants as much as possible.

I dropped out of the 1% in 2010 :cheesy:

Also the only year I was in it ... shh

Now I'm bottom 50% (earnings).   Saying that, pre 2000, and now, friends and family still alive, I didn't and don't know anyone that lives month to month as implied.   Though 2025, and think quite a few do now.

40 million getting some kind of food purchasing assistance.   Something wrong with that picture.

In TH, so  .... multi-millionaire status ... :cheesy:

The debt is never any problem to Democrats as long as they're the ones stealing and wasting money.

Biden was repeatedly and falsely described here as paying down the national debt. A narrative that aged like a bag of prawns in the sun. Why are the lefty posters suddenly concerned with national debt now? Should we make up some BS like ahh yessireebob Trump jezza payin down dem dere debts like we had to suffer for the democrat years?

Is there an extension available for Google Translate that we can use to understand some of these posts?

I’m sure you have been raging about the debt for the past five years.

Historically in general in modern times republicans are much worse for increasing the national debt than democrats.

This current Trump ugly bill of unfairness and medical misery for the poor reallty takes the cake though.

Unfairness?  How?

Didn't they campaign on debt decrease?

What do you want to cut from the federal budget to lower the debt?

I know. Before reducing debt, it would be better to at least stop increasing it.

All of the sudden, the left cares about the debt.

"Build Back Better Act"

"Inflation Reduction Act"

Unless congress is serious about dealing with the entitlement issue, what is the point.   The lions share of the federal budget is social program.   In 2024 the Federal government spending levels was 23.4% of the GDP.  Which is unsustainable.
