A critical issue for US nationals, but one that the population will ignore.  It's the USA's problem, which means that much of the world doesn't care what happens. USA has burnt its bridges and antagonized some of its key trading partners. It has gone to economic war against the world and will suffer the consequences. There is an ongoing shift from the USD. I doubt most US nationals are aware of the shift, and most are too arrogant to appreciate what is happening.  Good luck.

All of the sudden, the left cares about the debt.

"Build Back Better Act"

"Inflation Reduction Act"

They literally think we have the memories of goldfish.

That is false.   The dems increased the baseline spending.

Historically in general in modern times republicans are much worse for increasing the national debt than democrats.

This current Trump ugly bill of unfairness and medical misery for the poor reallty takes the cake though.

During my time in the US, I had the opportunity to talk to very affluent people. Job related. Among them, a good number of them told me that they are basically opposed to any sort of "social security".

- The "mild" version: "Why support the losers of the Nation with tax money".
- The more radical version: "Let them eat s*it and let them die".

I call BS. I do not believe I ever met anyone with that attitude, and I know quite a few rich people.

A lot of people, including myself are against Social Security, but it is not because we do not care about people.

That was about 800 billion and mostly paid bad.

After 2009 the dems passed the ACA and expanded Medicaid.

It's more than 100,000$ debt for every American (in addition to personal debt). Sooner or later it either, needs to be repaid via higher taxes, or be solved by printing money, leading to higher inflation... For anyone who earns, or holds dollars also a loss at the exchange counter.

But you have nothing against the new BBB?

Solution: Instead of contributing 10$ per week at the church on Sunday morning you raise it to 15$. That will fill the financial gap for "the food stamp crowd". A very low cost way to show that you care for people.

Put the names of the presidents on the graph presented earlier, and you'll see you do have the memory of a goldfish.

The dollar is the official currency of five U.S. territories, along with 11 foreign countries, territories, and municipalities around the world. It's also the quasi-official currency of several other nations that, in addition to their local currency, commonly accept U.S. dollars.

In addition to being the world's most commonly used currency, the dollar is also the world's reserve currency. This means it's held in large quantities by central banks around the globe.1 Sometimes known as the greenback, the U.S. dollar is also one of the most commonly traded currencies on the foreign exchange market.

Are you a texist?  what's wrong with white letters?

Foreighn buyers of T-Bills and T-Bonds WILL care. Foreighn buyers of US equities generally will have to look at an ever declining US $.

The debt was only a problem when the President was a Democrat.

"Since World War II, according to many economic metrics including job creation, GDP growth, stock market returns, personal income growth, and corporate profits, the United States economy has performed significantly better on average under the administrations of Democratic presidents than Republican presidents."

Many sources.

Most countries are swimming in debt and endless money printing due to reckless, negligent politicians who care about only 1 thing, their personal bank account.  They all deserve Mussolini's fate and all assets  given back to the people.  Look at Japan, drowning in debt for ages.  All these countries come out with the story that there is no inflation and they do this so they pay as little as possible interest on the debt whereas in fact inflation is

up 7 to 10% per annum yearly for ages everywhere.  They use the media to brainwash everyone.  Eventually the bubble will burst and you will see Armageddon.

There are a lot of things in it I don't like, but you seem to know nothing about it, and you are just here regurgitating Democrat talking points.

When and where were you living in the US and what kind of work did you do were you met all the greedy rich people?

You mean spend my own money to help them as opposed to taking other people's money to throw at them so as to make them dependent on the government and voting left? There may be hope for you yet.

It is telling how much more greedy Republicans donate to charitable causes than Democrats.

We should be very worried, one has to take into account the fact that Dick Cheney got a resolution passed that allow the entire Afghan and Iraqi campaigns to be conducted entirely off the books, so that's an extra 5 to 10 trillion that has to be added to the figures that they're already admitting to. The last  Trump administration added seven to eight trillion to the deficit, and he's probably going to add another 7 to 10 trillion this time, with 3.3 trillion alone just from his ridiculous ugly big bill. And that's what they're admitting to, the man spends like a drunken sailor.

Not really. It depends what you do with the debt.

The US is an economic power house, debt is an asset, an investment in its future

I'm worried about the debt but wasn't it amusing how "Dick" Cheney and his daughter became a heroes to the left when he came out against Trump?

So saying ' i totally disagree with her policies, but at least she has the guts to stand up' makes one a hero?

Nonsense and off topic statement.
