Brit guy was sitting down in the bar, Thai girl grabbed him by the throat. Slaps were exchanged. American attacked him unprovoked and should get 3 years for GBH.

Nah. If you're protecting a woman from being beaten, you don't get a prison sentence. Especially a Thai woman being attacked by a farang. Who cares if she started it? You're not allowed

  • Lady started the fight, clearly visible in the video that she grabs him in the throat.

Where are all the "never hit a woman for any reason"?

The British guy is very wrong most of us with experience here know if physical altercation from a bargirl, get up and hall ass of of there throwing out

several hundred baht on the table as you go.

I bet nothing criminal will happen to the American the Brit can sue him if he wants.  Good luck.

3.33am? Don't Pattaya bars ever close?

Are we to assume he just happened to come across her in a bar or did he go there to taunt her?

A fascinating glimpse of life. Lol.

UPDATE
British Man Breaks Arm During Dispute with Pattaya Bar Waitress

A 66-year-old British man suffered a broken arm following an altercation with a waitress at a beer bar in Pattaya during the early hours of the morning of 6 August.

The incident occurred at around 03:40 at a bar located in Soi 11, just off Pattaya 2 Road. Emergency services responded swiftly, providing first aid to the man, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated at the time.

According to 39-year-old bar waitress Sureerat, the man had persistently tried to buy her more drinks. As she was attending to other customers, she declined, which appeared to upset him. He allegedly began shouting at her, threatening her, before punching her in the face.

Another patron quickly intervened and restrained the man, who then fell to the ground. The fall resulted in a fracture to his right arm, according to attending rescue workers.

Ms Sureerat insisted that no one had assaulted the man, and that his injury occurred solely as a result of his fall.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Amazing how different posters see different things in such a short clip......leading to radically different  interpretations.

So here goes......there is no way, out of the blue, she pushed/shoved him in the neck area for no reason (not saying it was justified)......we have no idea what the reason(s) might have been....but obviously things were said and tensions were high.

She didn't try to glass him, she threw a drink in his face. I can't imagine many 'real men' even contemplating trying to hit a woman (looked like a punch to the face) because of that......I say 'real men'.

As for the American guy.......well done......obviously a Dem....a Republican would have just shot him and probably three other people on the other side of the road.

Punching a woman in the face isn't how you stop her hitting you. Deflect then walk away. The American did what any man should do to protect a woman, especially if they aren't aware of anything besides what they're seeing, and from what we can see in this video alone. If that was a ladyboy it's a little different, as it's man against man then, but it does say female.

America ........ policing the world (whether the world wants it or not).

Best not to get involved in my opinion. The Thais are quite capable of taking care of business. Its  called "security" and its included in the price you pay for a beer

A man doesn't think when he sees a woman being hit. He reacts. The "security" we've seen here leaves much to be desired, seeing many gang up a few against one and start kicking while down. A good security would handle this correctly yes.

Lucky the motorbike taxi drivers didnt take turns kicking him in the head.

True in a way, as America is all countries in one place, sticking up for others who are being attacked or being taken advantage of. If it wasn't for America, you wouldn't be living here now, and possibly under Japanese or German rule.  Trump's tariff policy, if it was his idea, was signed by him and likely stopped the border war from continuing. I don't like him but seeing I'm living a few kilos from Cambodia, I can stay in my house with little fear of artillery. Money convinces many to stop fighting, as it does to have some continue.

Fair enough but what if the guy had landed badly cracked his skull and died , it does happen. I would not put myself in that position   It would not necessarily turn out how one hoped ,

No way I would want to end up in a whole load of $hit due to an outdated notion of chivalry from back in the days when women did not hit men

They want equality , and now they have it

I was in London and a girl was being 'roughed up' by a bloke, holding her arms........obviously her beau or ex......quiet road, no one about.

So I went over and asked are you okay, can I do anything to help?

She turned round and said ......"Yes. Eff off and mind your own business".......555

Looks all even to me. The British guy hits like a girl. The American looks to have pulled him off the woman, and he was so drunk and brittle his bones broke.

Of course, as we've seen this happen before. He reacted, and did what he thought was right to stop the problem. Grabbing the man and leading him away with a bearhug would have been a better choice, but you don't trust anyone, as many, especially here, are armed with knives or possibly guns, so you have to think quick. Many times as I've seen, men can be calmed down if you have the strength to hold them at bay, A few seconds can make a difference and they might come to their senses fast. The same with a good security team. You don't hit but subdue.

I did hang about for awhile, a good distance away, and she eventually broke free of him and they walked in different directions......thank God she didn't say 'yes, help me.....hit him'.....555....he was much bigger than me.

Yep, I've heard about it here. You try and stick up for the girl and she attacks you. A different world so you have to weigh it out fast. In the US it isn't that way as far as I've ever seen.

she says she was tending to other customers........ what other customers ?

she says he was offering to buy her drinks ........never yet seen a bar worker refuse a drink

my take on it - he bought her a drink and she ignored him and he got angry, he should not have reacted the way he did right or wrong - she is obviously mouthy and started the altercation - the rest is mute

the american should have remained in his seat - these bar girls are more than capable of handling the situation although he may have ended up worse off so maybe the US guy did him a favour

More evidence, btw, that is always a good idea to keep yourself under control, even in disagreements. Cameras are everywhere. Phones are everywhere. Misbehave and you risk being utterly humiliated and made a joke of across the news and social media, just like this British guy.

Interesting that the original news outlet and it's 'adaptation' went in the opposite direction to the truth...

That is not what I saw on the video.

The drunken Brit (according to the OP) attacked his EX partner for doing her job  and only stopped the fight after a period of time.

\

As a Brit who has frequently been drunk in my younger days, should I feel sorry and support my fellow Brit, or support the American who stopped the Brit and threw him out of the bar.

My support goes to the American who stood up for the girl.

I despise anybody who can't accept rejection and move on with their life.

What is this rubbish @riclag? The video evidence shows him sitting down having a drink, with her threatening, pointing and hitting him. Do you have any evidence of him being the instigator?

That does not matter, a woman gets a little bit aggressive with you and you just walk away, you do not assault her.

Kudos to the American for shoving the guy, too bad he broke his arm but the guy was drunk out of his mind, and had absolutely nothing in the way of balance or survival skills at that moment. Very little sympathy for him.

Not condoning his behaviour at all but from what I can see he didn't fall  he was pushed./pulled  He was not expecting it the other guy almost came from behind , and it was a pretty large step down to the road for a drunk 66 year old to cope with    Hopefully he has learnt his lesson albeit the hard way  Life's too short to carry on like that

You're not allowed to hit a woman. That's the law of the jungle.

Law of the jungle means you're allowed to eat her. Considering she's a bar girl that might be nasty.

Im not protecting any woman that wants to go toe to toe against a man. Her body, her choice.

A drunken unnamed, British man was left with injuries after launching a violent outburst at a bar off of Pattaya Second Road in the early hours of the morning.

The incident occurred at on 03:33 on 6 August, when the man, reportedly intoxicated, spotted his former partner, a female bar employee, tending to other customers. Overcome by jealousy, he began shouting and physically assaulting her in full view of other staff and patrons.

One American customer, seated nearby, was unable to stand by and watch. He stepped in to stop the attack and, in the scuffle that followed, forcefully threw the British man out of the bar, with him falling to the ground. The suspect hit the pavement hard, sustaining a broken arm, a gash to the eyebrow and facial bleeding.

Emergency services arrived shortly after and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have stated they will conduct a full investigation once he is well enough to be interviewed and have pledged to ensure justice is served fairly for all parties involved.

The bar has so far declined to comment on the incident.
