  • Try Bush's Original baked beans. The best canned beans I've ever tasted. Often hard to find here in Chiang Mai.  I bought the last can at Rim Ping (Iron Bridge) a couple of weeks ago.

Baked beans are cooked after the-can of beans is sealed down with the lid

The food is cooked first then put in the can that is lined with epoxy coating, bisphenol, and reheated to kill off bacteria and the toxic BPA leaches into it for your unwitting dining experience.

Make your own.

Easy enough.

Yes I've been doing that and freezing but fancied going with Heinz for a change

They were a bargain at 35 baht a can, back up to 69 baht, taste good

At 69 baht they're obviously off the shopping list again, regardless how tasteful they are. Shame

Yes, if you manage to get into Lazada in the first place, in the few times I now use Lazada, I have to use the app.

Which of the baked beans brands available in Thailand have low sugar and sodium content?

From memory; Ayam.

They also have an 'English recipe' version that has less sugar and salt.

They have a light version as well, which should have even less sugar. Not available everywhere, but foodland has it

That to which I linked, is the Light version.

How much salt do you need here with the high heat and humidity?

You don't neither need more nor less salt in those circumstances.

Of course a low sugar/salt diet is always recommended in every climate

Incorrect, depends how much sweating, whether a salty sweater, whether doing nothing like you or someone active like me, i add plenty of salt, yesterday after cycling 100km i was nearly 2kg lighter due to water loss
