In a decisive crackdown yesterday, police in Phuket arrested three individuals accused of trafficking underage girls and a transgender teenager. The operation was spearheaded by Police Major General Songklod Krikkritaya, head of the Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTD).

 

The arrests occurred at a bar in Mueang district, with suspects identified as Niracha, 50, along with 21-year-olds Pornchai and Somjai. The evidence found included 5,000 baht and bar fine receipts of 500 baht each for two individuals, Nok and Earn.

 

Authorities had been tipped off about the bar in Rawai subdistrict, suspected of prostituting girls under 18. Undercover agents conducted a sting operation, negotiating sexual services with two 17-year-olds for 2,500 baht each, plus a 500 baht bar fine per person.

 

Following the transaction, police arrested Niracha, the bar's owner; Pornchai, her son; and Somjai, Pornchai’s partner and the bar's manager. The young victims, including a 17-year-old transgender individual, were rescued and will receive protection under the human trafficking victim welfare system.

 

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to their knowledge of the illicit services offered by the minors. It was disclosed that the 500 baht bar fine served as a service fee, with 100 baht redirected to the girls once paid.

 

The suspects face charges of joint human trafficking and have been handed over to AHTD investigators for further proceedings. This case underscores the ongoing battle against human trafficking in the region, highlighting the importance of vigilance and enforcement in protecting vulnerable youth.

Were the teenage girls that were defiled and raped by the grooming gangs in the UK being held hostage? Were they locked up and kept prisoner? Were they chained to their beds? Kidnapped from their homes?

Which only shows the perverse thinking of officials who decided that age was okay. They're children until at least 18, and like another mentioned, their brains aren't developed enough, most until they're around 25, so rational decisions fall by the wayside.

Some people acquire a few experiences in life and suddenly think they have reached the holy grail of moral wisdom, and have the right to strike down on everyone because everyone who does not share their opinions are beneath them.

 

For once if you could open your eyes and see that not all bar girls come from the same story, that there are so many different paths to the profession, you would never point your finger to those "men who go after these young girls". Even categorizing them into "men who go after young girls" is stupid, some are just getting ripped off until all their savings are drained and they end up jumping from the balcony, a fate several times worse than that of the bar girl.

Have to say though that bar messed up, they could have employed the 17 year old just one year later and filled the position with someone else for the mean time.

No, morality is a constant. Some perverse it to their own beliefs, which are against what morality means. They've been taught that women are objects, mainly leaned from watching their own fathers disrespect, use and or abuse their mothers.

 

Also learning from peers the same things, as their peers had the same misogynist upbringings themselves. When a man looks at a woman as an equal is when they're truly a man, and not a boy who doesn't know any better.

 

Of course not all bar girls come from the same story. That's exactly what I said. Some are forced into it by greedy , sick , uncaring "parents", who's only agenda is making a profit from their daughters sleeping with as many men as possible, so they can profit from it themselves.

 

Some are molested as children, thinking their bodies are only for a man's pleasure.

I'm not the one that needs to open their eyes, as I've seen and known about this since I was a teenager. Assuming I've had a few experiences in life is just that. Some are just obviously more educated than you on the subject, and understand human psychology a lot more. Some's thinking is so skewed, and they actually believe the women enjoy this lifestyle. yes, they'll go along with it, but thinking they're somehow happy is ignorance. There are jobs out there which makes a profit, 100%, for the women, and that they can be proud of, along with any children they conceive. True, some of these women are likely intelligent, but intelligence alone isn't going to have them thinking what they're doing isn't wrong. There are jobs for women with intelligence that have nothing to do with taking risks with their health, well being or sanity. It's isn't a safe trade like you might think, as many are addicted to drugs and  alcoholism.  STD's are extremely prevalent, and are spread daily, some with life threatening results, to themselves and those they sleep with. Many are beaten by johns and killed.

 

Having more money than I means nothing, as many of the richest people on earth are also the most disturbed and dangerous users alive.

I feel bad for these women, but nothing will stop this behavior besides taking away the ones that either profit in cash by it, or those who only look at women as objects to use, both of which are taught by their own fathers as children. FYI, A 17 yo can easily look in their 20ies...and not all "sex" tourists are old men, many young guys visit Phuket... and I highly doubt an old man would go for a teen ho, unless he's a pedo,

I'm not making any sort of value judgment about their age as they were 17, and old enough to make a choice like this. I don't think that a claim was being made that this was their first choice as a profession, we're simply stating the possibility that they were doing what they were doing willingly, and that's a very different thing. You don't allow a sex slave to go out with a customer as you can very likely lose control at that control.

 

You can judge the work all you want, but for a pretty young girl without a specialized university education there aren't a lot of other job options available here that make more than 15,000 to 20,000 baht per month.

"Morality is constant" is a retarded statement, some basic axioms can be established however for everything else, there are contextual interpretations and shared values. Go back to reading an entry level book on philosophy.
