There is an ad being served to me on FB about a tiny AI powered "dog" with 99 percent of the behaviors of a real dog. I guess they mean as far as interaction with humans and learning to relate to the specific humans in it's sphere. Not biological stuff.
Just looking at the videos it's clear to me that their little toy is closer to 1 percent than 99 but hope springs eternal and there's a sucker born every minute.

I'm in a no pets condo and I do love dogs so I would definitely be interested in such a "pet" if it really was closer to 99 percent. I get it that it can't be real and could never be exactly the same but there are advantages no feeding, picking up poop, dog sitting, vet bills, etc.

If you were in a no pets living situation, would you also be interested in such a chargeable critter?

If so, how much would you pay for it?

That I haven't really considered. It would obviously need to be expensive.

Will the AI-powered dog engage in sniffing a woman's rear?

Can it kill a rat or a  cobra?

Now there are replacements. Can we kill off all the stray mutts now?

I doubt the insurance would cover that.

It occurs to me that if the AI dogs were that realistic that condo Karens would report a not allowed pet and even argue that AI pets are included in the ban.

I guess to combat that the unit would need to have user control overrides.

Such as no barking, no aggression towards delivery people, no going nuts everytime someone walks by the condo door plus a factory reset if its personality development turns out to be unplleasant.

A pet rock seems more ideal,also good for self defense.

What if the AI dog is smarter than you Jingthing, it will take over your home and make you a slave.

Does it sniff visitors crotches, issue stinky farts, wee up every lamp post or bark at nothing?

Why not go find yourself an expired soi dog and have taxidermied and fluffed up for a home ornament.

Nothing biological but I think sniffing would be an authentic behavior sure.

There are already those Ai robot dogs that can get very fiesty. The best way to chase away the reguler rabies infected agressive soi dogs all over the country and nobody seems to care. 

 

On a previous holiday few years ago,  we rented a nice villa on one of those swanky "highly awarded" falang run pool villa developpments in Hua Hin.

 

Soi dogs all around the walls outside,  so one could not leave the developpment to  even walk down to the few restaurants. Not to mention the snakes comming out from the water evacuation gutters in the garden.

 

The manager of that time just said "well this in Thailand you know.."...Wow ! Pay a hefty price to get bitten by a deadly snake in the garden ? 

 

 I was a fool to have paid so much for such a place that everybody was singing praises all over.

I'm aware of robot dogs that look like robots but I don't think they're designed to be pets.

Mainly for security or defense purposes. American and Chinese police apparently seem to have these robots for their SWAT teams.
