If his Thai passport is revoked he can only enter on another passport, which would make him a tourist?

And foreign tourists can't have Thai bank accounts.

Sorted.

Of course he's probably busy right now  trying to find out the likely verdict.

I suspect he knows it already, that's why he fled. But we'll find out on Tuesday.

High profile billionaire not in same bracket as your average crim though.

I don’t get why he didn’t just go behind bars. It would still have been cushy—never would’ve been in gen pop—and was only for a few months. Might’ve been enlightening and good for his soul. Weak-ass slippery b’stard. 😋

Weak-assed slippery b'stards worry about loss of face too.

Anyway, martyrdom is way over hyped. It is for the underlings, not the leaders.

A timely move by Mr T with Anutin's premiership imminent.

But then why did he insist, twice I believe, once to his own MPs, that he will come back on Monday?

If absent, it will only make him look even more untrustworthy, if that's possible.

Which passport specifically?

His Thai passport obviously, because then if he tries to enter Thailand on another passport he will be treated like a tourist of another nationality.

his charade with the faked hospital stay worked last time, so why not try it again (play sick and hide) , we will see ...

his fanboys still believe he was really close to death and that the hospital stay was necessary and within the law ...

Now you get it....  with his Thai passport revoked he could only enter on another passport as a foreigner.

one could start to question as a foreign national how can he own so much property, shares etc,

It's just unfathomable that a person with his history was allowed to run the show at all, and then to let him leave? What could possibly go wrong? 🙄

Letting him back in was the issue.............................. although that event may have back-fired as Thaksin now probably realises that he no longer has the God-like status that he thought he enjoyed. Maybe lackies constantly blowing smoke up his ar5e was contributory factor.

The abrupt change in travel plans of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has sparked intense speculation, casting doubt on his scheduled court appearance. Initially en route to Singapore for medical treatment, Thaksin diverted to Dubai, citing airport delays and closing hours at Singapore’s Seletar Airport. Now, political circles buzz with theories regarding his true intentions as judgement day looms.

Thaksin's troubles trace back to a high-profile case tied to his six-month stay at Police General Hospital's luxurious ward, instead of serving jail time behind bars.

His critics have long accused him of feigning illness to dodge a proper prison sentence, and a Medical Council of Thailand probe suggested he received undue help from some doctors. The Supreme Court is set to rule on Tuesday about whether Thaksin's sentence was legally fulfilled.

Amidst mounting pressure, Thaksin took to social media to explain his sudden detour, stating Dubai's doctors, who treated him during his past residence there, are capable of conducting necessary check-ups. However, sceptics remain unconvinced.

Palang Pracharath Party’s Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn dismissed Thaksin's medical explanation, hinting at political motives given the ongoing selection of a new prime minister following the removal of Thaksin’s daughter, Paetongtarn, from office.

Stepping up the rhetoric, Thai Pakdee Party leader Warong Dechgitvigrom labelled this move as “Thaksin’s final escape.” He doesn’t believe Thaksin will keep his word and appear at the court.

The court case focuses on the enforcement of a reduced one-year prison sentence, brought down from an original eight years through royal clemency. Following his return to Thailand in August 2023, Thaksin was whisked to prison, only to be transferred to hospital within hours and later released on parole, reported the Bangkok Post.

Amidst political tension, Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has urged patience, acknowledging Thaksin's overseas medical claim but advising the public to await official news.

Thaksin has informed them of being abroad for treatment, with a hint of uncertainty about his return. All eyes are on Thaksin as the court date approaches and the crucial days that lie ahead.

We're talking wildly unlikely hypotheticals here though, so it must be Sunday.

Just my idea but i think the meeting he had with Prayut was in order to explain his options to him.

It was solved the Thai way,he is gone, problem is gone!

That sounds more like the nub of it.

Spot on.

The best possible solution and you can guarantee that Prayut was authorised to relay that to Thaksin.

The former Prime Minister, who initially boarded his Bombardier Global 7500 at Don Mueang Airport on 7th September 2025 for a medical visit to Singapore, has since redirected his flight to Dubai.

He had a meeting with Prayuth? I thought that Thaksin just issued an opinion that Prayuth would be the best pick for the next PM, but I was unaware that there may have been a meeting.

Strange  why he come back to fix those charges for sure.now he leaves for the middle east after getting permission on his jet to go.Passports mean nothing he has many  and whether a thai one is current and diplomatiic does not matter

We'll know the answers by c.o.b. tonight.

Thaksin confirms his private jet lands in Singapore ahead of planned return to Thailand later this evening Former Prime Minster Thaksin Shinawatra confirms to Thai Enquirer that he just landed in Singapore to get his ‘health check-up’ before flying back to Bangkok later this evening (as per plans).

Two health checks, 2 doctors, 2 different countries?

The supreme court has decided he didn't serve enough time, so his detention is back on.

But does the court verdict state whether he goes back to Klong Prem, or now goes into home detention?
