You say they. Who's they? Reportedly there is one suspect and he is in custody. 

Apparently, he was shot in the neck and there was a lot of blood and he's in critical condition. That sounds very serious indeed.

I'm going to apologize for talking about political disagreements so soon after the assassination. That was wrong to talk about that so early. What needs to be talked about by everyone is that everyone of all political stripes need to strongly condemn POLITICAL VIOLENCE.

Like many, I do think that such events have a high likelihood of being contagious. No decent person wants that.
