Cafes in 5 star hotels

Featured Replies

Well I had the gentlemanly pleasure of going up to level 16 of the Hilton hotel cafe recently where I mixed with the Elite & upper class and I found a "true romance " in conversation with such like-minded people of my intelligence and social class

I met a doctor and we discussed physics

And yes I did tell him my occupation which years ago was called a hospital cleaner but now I'm a "presentation services officer " and he was quite impressed although he didn't ask what my job entails

May I ask you all what other Cafes I can go to in 5 star establishments

Does the Royal Cliff have a Cafe I can go to ?

May I use the facilities of 5 star establishments without being a guest as such ?

Should have also discussed punctuation !!!...     I'd be kinder, but you are claiming intelligence and social class...        As far as people of intelligence and social class

  • Does this happen often?

  • At 5000 ++++  baht per night one would hope so.

As far as people of intelligence and social class, they are all around you - you just don't notice them in regular places because they don't 'stand out' and make it obvious, but there are tells for anyone who's been here long enough to recognise them.

A very analytical post and thankyou for your service

Talking about punctuation -i love the hyphen you put in

No your incorrect if one such as me goes to say Soi Bukhao in Pattaya the intelligence level is not high

A few weeks ago I tried to discuss the ingredients of floor disinfectant to another farang in the sports bar ...a very rude man who told me to F....off !

He started off nice ...then when I went into analysis he became rude and shouted he is "watching the football"

Well, you did imply that you seek out people of similar 'intelligence and social class'....

... and stop drinking floor disinfectant it clearly muddles the brain.

I am fixated on that hyphen- you put in the last post .thanks

Its an en dash.

You're welcome!

And yet, you failed to grasp that the entire OP was satire. Mentioning that he was a hospital cleaner was the clue.

I wish that was the case but IMHO there is no way that George is capable of satire. Bullpooping yes but satire no.  I believe he would have to look up satire in the dictionary.

Nope, I get it – he’s just painfully unfunny, desperately grasping at Bob Smith style trolling for attention.

The endless repetition of 'hospital cleaner' and the tedious hunt for those of 'similarly elevated intellect' across multiple threads is worn out, and laughably inept, especially given that the Ops sociophonetics reveal an education and grasp of satire far beyond anything he could possibly comprehend.

Ok, fair enough. I don't spend much time here and haven't been following the OP on other threads.

Next time go to the rooftop bar at the Hilton, with a tidy chick.

it's guaranteed to be a winner 😎

Yea ... talking physics :cheesy:

With some of the queries he posts, I'm surprised he's allowed out without supervision.   I don't think deep thought is his forte'.

I thought he was a 'sanitation engineer' :coffee1:

Many posts trolling as usual. Whats next weeks topic in your next VIP tour, pros and cons of Micro Fibre Cleaning Clothes or true thread count vs the great deception

Hell no ... may have a few nice ones, but best, not even close.

One of our local ones has a waterfall, and I've been to many spots all over TH, great view, amazing landscape, and even good coffee to wash down their baked goods, made in house, not frozen from CN.

Dos Expresso is OK, but lets not go crazy.

I wonder what information he in the capacity of presentation service office presents with his mop and bucket ?

Better to just ask where there are better places to eat than telling us what social class you think you should be in. There are many foreigners on this forum willing to help recommending places better than the average noodle shop. And unless someone starts a conversation about floor cleaning products, it's best to listen to what their interests might be and go from there, as that would be a very boring topic to choose when speaking to a stranger.

Nice ice cream.

I only ever go to the cafes in five-star hotels when I am staying in the hotels, which not often since I retired.

I think it's a four-star, but the lobby cafe at the Novotel Siam Square has comfortable seating and nice foot traffic.

What's with haters wanting to come in and sh*t in threads?

How am I being racist? I never mentioned your race. The 2 topics I reference should be right in your knowledge and experience base and ripe for like minded people to discuss over tea and scones or beer and fries. Good for any setting

I expect that the translation was that someone was cruising the  toilets at the Hilton for a hookup. When a person was propositioned to visit the milky way, the response was that there would instead be a launch into the asteroid belt, much as  Jackie Gleason was always saying he would send Alice to the moon.

So true, but I don't need to go to a coffee shop for good coffee or baked goods. So a bit of ambiance helps, and what is missing in most of the fine dining experiences in TH ...

Our veranda w/great coffee, nice view and I make a tasty cheesecake ...
