Trying to make a saint out of Kirk and using him in the same way Hitler used the burning of the reichstag to rapidly and radically shift society into a  place where free speech is only for pro fascists and worshippers of dear leader is the actual new low of the Trump - maga movement.

Hitler lol

What a stupid comparison

What a totally ignorant thread. Pitiful. Why is it you didn't mention he was ASSASSINATED by a leftist idelogically radicalised trans/furry loving killer.

I don’t  disagree with your point...  but, I strongly object to character assassination simply because some disagree with his politics.

Surely we are all intelligent enough to recognise when his comments are being taken out of context, or when selective sound-bites are cherry-picked to create a distorted and biased impression. Critiquing ideas is valid; misrepresenting a person’s character crosses a line into intellectual dishonesty.

Did you watch the video? Did you see what he said about various people? Those weren't insults?

And, of course, you're backing away from your original statement in which you claimed that a person's character can't be judged on what they say. So, if someone were to say that he'd be worried about getting on a plane with a black and hispanic pilot because he's be worried if they've ever flown a plane before is not a racist insult?  Or insulting a Supreme Court Justice, who has actually had a very distinguished legal career ,on the grounds that she is black and therefore benefited from DEI is not an insult?

Yes, he insulted KBJ.

How does that make him a racist?

I do not think she was selected because she is a great constitutional scholar.

There a number of historical parallels between the maga fascists and the Nazis. Not everything of course but enough to point out the ones that are real.

This is not a racist insult; it is a critique of affirmative action as a policy.

The problem arises when statement such as this are cherry-picked and presented out of context, as the video does. Doing so is misleading and intellectually dishonest, because it distorts the intended argument and portrays it as something it is not.

True critique should engage with the full context, rather than manipulating isolated remarks to create a false narrative.

Not racist? Because black and hispanic people really being made pilots with no experience is a realistic scenario? Give me a break.

As for other comments being taken out of context? You're making the claim. Prove it. Good luck with that.

I've always been woke ...

My definition of 'woke' = knowing people are different, and accepting all for who they are, with mutual respect of their different opinions and or lifestyle.  Live & let live.

Not sure if that's what some folks think 'woke' means.

He was a cheap insult artist and a bully.

No wonder Trump was his idol.
Sorry, but it's true.

That was Kirk’s central point: in a society without affirmative action, we could be confident that a Supreme Court Justice - or any high-level position - was appointed purely on merit. Yet, given the current focus on political optics, it can be argued that some appointments might be influenced by considerations of representation - for example, placing Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson “over a white male” because it appears more socially or politically favourable.

This is precisely where affirmative action warrants criticism: when the emphasis shifts from competence and qualifications to appearances and optics, the principle of meritocracy is undermined. Policies intended to promote equality should not compromise the fundamental requirement that the most capable individuals occupy positions of responsibility and authority.

The first minute of the video proves it - it selects a single statement from Kirk and repeats it without full context.

You don't like him because of his stance on LBGQT+ rights.... I disagree with that stance [of his] - nevertheless, that does not make him an insult artist or a bully - it simply makes him someone who as argued an opinion on a public stage (and politely so).

They were fascists. But I get it. Playing that stupid game is a big favorite of the maga fascist movement and also claiming that the US isn't a democracy the origin of which was the deeply racist John Birch Society.

Why would a pilot (white or black) be in the cockpit if they were not qualified, are airlines not monitoring this ?

A pilot would be qualified, black, white, or any color, male or female, to fly the plane, if he or she were flying the plane. We are talking about Commercial pilots!

Kirk is not a fascist. He wanted people promoted on merit.

So find the context. Kirk made a career out of saying the same things over and over again. Shouldn't be too difficult for you to back up your claim.

Who are you to tell me why I didn't like him?

But on that subject trans Americans are living in great fear now as they have been erased as even existing by the Trump regime and of course amplified by the Kirk murder.

Trans people did not murder Kirk.

ONE PERSON did!

How the Nazis demonized the Jews, the maga fascists demonize trans people. But the Nazis didn't stop there and neither will the maga fascists.

The maga fascists are trying to demonize all Americans who don't support Trump.

Kirk explicitly insulted her intellect and tied it to affirmative action. So, no, he wasn't just arguing that it might be the case, he was explicitly saying that it was the case.

I've provided the context (affirmative action) in more than one comment already - it would be pointless to keep repeating myself just to argue with you.

No one denies that Kirk was talking about affirmative action. It's the way he talked about and the fact that he engaged in explicit insults of certain people and claiming that the only reason they succeeded was because of affirmative action. You claim that he didn't insult these people. That his comments were taken out of context. Prove it. And good luck with that.

Charles Kirk, like all of us, had his faults but his heart was in the right place. He will be remembered as an American patriot and martyr of an re-awaking of conservative Christian values in the United States. His legacy will live on even after he was so hideously murdered by a gay furry lover.

Its obvious...   but drop the dramatic faux outrage - this isn't a TV drama.

Are they, really ???....   Trans people from the USA living in great fear ???..  Really ??? - a bit dramatic again.

That said, there are alternative perspectives worth considering, especially in light of his most recent public comments. For example, he criticised the IDF for what he described as a delayed six-hour response to the October 7 attacks, despite helicopter bases being less than an hour away. Such observations have sparked debate and further conspiracies about his 'assassination'.

The maga fascists are trying all Americans who don't support Trump.

Using terms like “MAGA fascists” makes you come across as somewhat of an unhinged extremist yourself. Resorting to name-calling is politically extreme and undermines any attempt to take the moral high ground. Constructive debate requires setting aside emotionally charged labels and engaging with arguments on their merits, rather than attacking the people who hold them.

Look at the cabinet picks of his idol Trump.

The majority of them are among the most atrociously unqualified in American history!

The number one criteria for Trump is LOYALTY to Trump.

Did Kirk ever criticize that?

I don't know but I would be very shocked if he did.

Yep, because he's the boss.

When you were working, did you walk into your boss's office every morning and criticize the way he was running the company and refuse to do what he told you?
