Police in Phuket safely escorted a Norwegian woman back to her hotel after she was found drunk and lying on a footpath in Patong on the night of September 23. She was discovered on Rat Uthit 200 Years Road with an Israeli tourist, while her husband was reportedly in panic searching for her at their hotel. Officers confirmed that no harm had come to her before she was reunited with her husband.

The incident began when police and volunteers on patrol noticed the woman asleep on the pavement. A foreign man was sitting nearby and identified himself as Israeli, explaining that he had met the woman earlier that evening on Bangla Road. He stated he was not her boyfriend, clarifying that their encounter was only by chance that night.

The woman was not carrying identification documents at the time, making it difficult for officers to confirm her accommodation. Police subsequently contacted several hotels in the area and discovered that she was a guest at Kalima Resort and Spa. Staff reported that her husband had been frantically looking for her and was relieved when police confirmed she was safe.

According to local media outlet Newshawk Phuket, a Thai woman later commented online that a tuk tuk driver and his girlfriend had encountered the Norwegian woman before authorities arrived. The post alleged that the tourist was too intoxicated to properly cover herself and was not wearing underwear. It added that the driver’s girlfriend gave her a blanket for modesty before police were called.

The episode sparked a wave of reactions on social media. Some Thai netizens commended the Israeli man for staying by the woman’s side despite also being intoxicated. Others made light-hearted remarks, suggesting they pitied him for helping a woman who was married. Police have not reported any further action in connection with the incident. The woman was safely returned to her hotel, where she was reunited with her concerned husband.

For a rapist and those who take advantage of women who are passed out.

Certainly keeps up with drawing the dregs from around the world

Er.....how did that work?

As my old mum would have said. "Pissed as a newt. Red hat, no drawers." Was hubby a happy chappy, I wonder?😄

Nice... keep it classy, as always.

A little bit messy for a woman to end up passed-out on a pavement in Phuket with some random Israeli dude and not her boyfriend, who has no clue where she is... quality tourists as ever.

Glad she is safe now.  Probably still sitting in front of her toilet praying to the bowl.

OK Phuket wins this week's uncouth foreigner award over Pattaya.🎁

We can't compete with that. 😞

Reminds me of the problems we have here in Pattaya with the Soi dogs

It was nice of the Israeli to sit with her and wait for the police to arrive.

This could have turned out a lot worse.

Thai girl with a Norwegian passport perhaps? Back home and partying like the old days before she met her husband?
