 I guess you don't understand that not all hurty words are legally defamatory. It's generally quite difficult for a plaintiff to prevail.  Jones made it easy.

I thiink on some other thread I expressed my strong distaste for such government intervention. But I don't recall Biden or any other President, Republican or Democrat accusing new sources of engaging in illegal activity. Or an FCC commissioner who threatened a network.

maybe that the parents were paid actors ? he later said that he was wrong  and apologised to the parents  and then was sued years later for over  a billion dollars.

 

He did not kill the kids , incite anyone to pee on the dead kids graves

and did not call for "dates with baseball bats"

He's great all round   very informative  slightly less entertaining recently  as he was only getting noticed for his wackier fun pieces like the gay frogs ( which was also informative about the chemicals found in water that might be causing the "gayness" ) 

Dont like the guy - comes across 2M as a loud ignorant conspiracy nutter way too much.  However he did say some things that are on point, but IMO most of it was greatly exaggerated or completely misleading and some outright false.  Having said all that, I now realise Jones was very much like WAPO, CNN and MSNBC.  Either way - now he has been 'smacked' I am sure he will behave more within the ethical and legal boundaries he over-stepped before.  

I didn't care for  Alex  he's a snake oil salesman but I did enjoy Infowars reporters , 

Wheeler the blonde ,had balls & was easy on the eyes.

Shroyer the young kid was unafraid & had talents on loan from god.

 

Im happy he's  back though.

On December 14, 2012, the day of the shooting, Alex Jones began suggesting on his show Infowars that the massacre was staged to push gun control legislation. Over the following years, he repeatedly claimed that the grieving parents were “crisis actors” and that the shooting was a hoax. The first defamation lawsuits were filed in April 2018 in Texas by parents of Sandy Hook victims.
In May 2018, additional lawsuits were filed in Connecticut by 13 family members and an FBI agent. 

Jones made a partial apology during an interview with NBC’s Megyn Kelly, saying the situation was “complex” and that he had looked at “all the angles.” He did not fully retract his claims but attempted to soften his stance. 

September 2022: During his defamation trial in Connecticut, Jones stated: “I’ve already said I’m sorry hundreds of times. And I’m done saying I’m sorry.”
This was widely interpreted as a dismissive and defiant stance, especially as it was said in front of grieving families. 

 

It appears that he got serious about the apology when he was losing millions of dollars. Eventually in 2023 he gave the excuse for his actions that he was "Playing devil's advocate."

It wasn't just a one shot statement, quickly followed by apologies. He did go on with his smear campaign during 4/5 years, from 2012 to 2017, when he started to backpedal, for example at Kelly's show.

 

During all these years, he could not have been unaware of the retribution from his supporters that was experienced by the dead kids' parents.

Jones made similar comments the following January, saying the shooting was “a synthetic, completely fake with actors, in my view, manufactured. I couldn’t believe it at first. I knew they had actors there, clearly, but I thought they killed some real kids. And it just shows how bold they are that they clearly used actors.”
