Police have arrested a 23-year-old Russian man, Mr Georgii, suspected of engaging in a sexual act at the rear of a black pickup truck. The arrest took place at Suvarnabhumi Airport on 25 September 2025 at 15:45 and the suspect was taken back to Phuket for further legal proceedings.

 

The incident came to the attention of police after video and images of the alleged act circulated on social media. Under orders from Police Colonel Chatree Chukaew, head of Phuket City Police Station, an investigative team coordinated with multiple agencies to locate the suspect. Officers tracked Mr Georgii to Suvarnabhumi Airport, after identifying him as the man in the images.

 

Investigators established that Mr Georgii had flown from Phuket to Suvarnabhumi Airport. Immigration police, led by Police Colonel Chai Panakit, intercepted him upon arrival. He was questioned at the airport before being taken into custody.

 

Police in Phuket have proposed to immigration authorities that Mr Georgii’s visa be revoked and that he be placed on a blacklist barring future entry into Thailand. This proposal is under review by the immigration office. No formal charges have yet been announced beyond the arrest and proposed visa cancellation.

 

The case has drawn attention from both local authorities and the public, particularly due to the incident’s circulation on social media. Police have stressed they will proceed according to legal processes and await immigration authorities’ decision regarding the visa revocation.

 

Authorities have indicated the investigation will continue and further measures could be taken if more evidence emerges. The case is likely to be closely monitored given its public exposure.

Thanks...    Even though we never do see any follow up to these stories... It would be interesting to know if or how any charges differ as there has long been a suspicion that a foreigner might face a more stern penalty for the same 'incident'...
