Koh Lan island

Featured Replies

I'm thinking as I only have a few days left before I go back to Australia I had a beautiful view today of the island from the royal cliff beach

It's called Koh Lan and looks beautiful I have been offered a private speed boat ride there Monday

I want to meet the island President if  I can and have told the boat operator who told the Hotel manager that I deserve the "red carpet" treatment on arrival

please does anyone here on this forum live on that island

I can see from the expensive chocolate factory balcony it looks beautiful

Not only beautiful desserts but wines also at the chocolate factory balcony who gave me a unhindered view of the island 🏝️

What's exactly on the island I could look at and meet the Fabolous locals

When i was there just full of Chinese. A thai girlfriend got a speedboat there with friends, guy disappeared for the return leg, good luck

You can go flying there. A great little paragliding club who let you sore the jungle and land on the beach.

Koh Lan is okay low season and normal week days. Best if you manage to ride your own motorbike around. A few ok restaurants and bars, and  some live music in the evenings.

Islands are overrated, might as well go to a nice mainland beach, much better choices of restaurants, bars, shops

Not many mainland beaches have same quality as Koh Lan, next one is Koh Samet.

A good option is to fly in tandem with one of your ladyboy friends.....p.s. if you take up my offer I,ll treat you to dinner in one of KoLahn,s top restaurants.

p.s. Aussies need their passports in KoLahn.....

I understand the island President is at the UN at the moment. Meeting Albo on the sidelines to talk about the mentally challenged janitors from Australia tarnishing the image of Thailand.

Nang Ram, Nang Rong, Mae Ram beach also good @Hummin

We might have different opinions about a nice beach, and i have visited all of them. The main difference no matter season you can find decent water to swim at Koh lan one or the other side.

These islands are rule unto themselves... ruled by local families with little real Thai law oversight... think Death Island/Koh Tao.

Really, 40 mins to Nang Ram, how long to get to bali hai, slow ferry then beach?

Far better to go to Bang Saray beach for the day!

There's a huge pile of garbage they struggle to address.

Mostly it's a good view better seen from a distance and less appealing from up close!

I decided we needed to try out Koh Larn, first parking a car is a chore, the speed boat was ride from hell, once there I expected plenty of songtaews or taxis but none was there, eneded up renting a motorbike for 2 adults and a child. Found the beach, crazy steep hill leading down to beach, actually we had a nice time once there. But all in all I won't be returning, too much hassle, rather go to Si Kaew in Sattahip or Nong Ram by Upapao.

Scammers operating in the car park area to watch out for.

Speedboats can do your back some serious damage!

I forget what I paid for parking in the dirt lot, half expecting the boat to just fall apart hitting the waves. No fun
