A Thai woman in Phuket has accused a Russian man of harassment, stating he stalked and threatened her after she rejected his romantic advances. The woman, employed at a Patong café, shared her concerns on the Phuket Times Facebook page on October 14. She emphasized that she had not encouraged his interest and demanded an end to his threatening behaviour.

The incident began after they met on the beach and exchanged contact information. Though she communicated that she saw him only as a friend, he continued to call and visit her workplace. The situation escalated when he allegedly issued threats against her and her colleagues, including threatening to throw a rock at the café.

The woman provided evidence of the harassment with screenshots of her conversation with the alleged stalker. In the messages, he sent a picture of a rock threatening to throw it through the café’s window unless she met him promptly. He also attempted to damage the café’s reputation by posting a one-star review on Google Maps and encouraging others to do the same.

Further threats included claims of having connections with influential figures in Phuket, with the Russian allegedly threatening to have the café shut down. Feeling unsafe, the woman turned to the media, though it is unclear if legal action has been pursued.

This event follows a similar case in July in Chiang Mai, where a ladyboy reported physical assault and rape by a man she had previously been involved with. After expressing her wish not to continue the relationship, the man allegedly continued to stalk and harass her. He later attempted to apologise and resume the relationship after ignoring a police summons.

Key Takeaways

  • A Phuket café worker claims harassment by a Russian man after rejecting him.
  • Violent threats and reputational attacks on the café were reported.

I guess notifying the police first was a waste of time ?

To me, he looks like Ukrainian due to his black hair.

The police need to pay a visit to this man and determine if he is a threat to the woman, the cafe, and the other employees.  If he is, then he needs to be sent back to his country.

Hakuna Matata To me, he looks like Ukrainian due to his black hair.

@Hakuna Matata

You've drunk too much Hakuna Matata!

ohhh, he's a threat alright. He's an emotional threat as well as a physical threat. Photo with rock in hand. He's a potential threat to anyone and everyone if he thinks this is proper behavior.

Let's move back to start. Could there be more to the story than the prudent Thal lass  post on her social media?

Does it matter? He is threatening.

I hope the young lady has reported him to police by now, she has enough evidence. He needs a few days in lock up and deported. Not because he’s Russian, but because he’s a danger to the general,public.
