A 24-year-old unnamed French man, sustained serious injuries after jumping from the fifth floor of a hotel in South Pattaya early morning, following an apparent argument with his girlfriend. The incident occurred at around 05:05 on 27 October 2025. Emergency responders and a medical team were quickly dispatched to the scene after Pattaya City Police received reports of a person falling from height.

At the car park below the building, rescuers found the man lying in a pool of blood, barely breathing. Rescue volunteers and doctors administered first aid and rushed him to Pattaya City Hospital for emergency treatment. His condition was reported as serious at the time of transport.

According to a security guard on duty, the man had been seen climbing up and down the balcony area of his fifth-floor room shortly before the incident. Staff members had repeatedly urged him to come down and he briefly complied before climbing up again and jumping. Witnesses said that prior to the incident, he had been overheard shouting during a heated phone conversation, believed to be with his girlfriend.

Police later inspected the hotel room and found no signs of a struggle or foul play. Investigators believe the man may have been emotionally distressed over relationship issues, leading him to make an impulsive and dangerous decision. Authorities are now working to contact the woman who was reportedly on the phone with him to better understand the sequence of events. Officers said the investigation would continue while the victim remains under hospital care.

Agreed

The crap they put up with is amazing.

Why on earth is a 24 year old getting involved with prostitutes? Did he think it was actually his girlfriend? Tragic.

True, but it is our choice to be here. Thais don't go to our homelands  and unalive themselves in quite the same manner and frequency as foreigners do in Thailand.

No. He is a kid, so most people would cut him some slack as we all did stupid things in our youth. However, it's the constant issues with mentally unstable people. Today a French national. Next week it will be an Englishman or a heartbroken German, and next month a despondent South Korean.

For many foreigners, the level of promiscuity among Thai women is something they struggle to grasp, and they are often caught by surprise. Most end up with the emotional scars and eventually settle down. But some — like this guy, or that Brit who burned his wife’s clothes — seem unable to come to terms with it.

Frenchman Dies After Jumping From Pattaya Hotel Balcony

A 24-year-old Frenchman has died in hospital after jumping from a hotel balcony in South Pattaya in the early hours of October 27, 2025. Rescuers arrived at the scene following a report from a security guard and found him lying in a pool of blood with severe head injuries and a broken right leg. He was rushed to Pattaya City Hospital after receiving first aid on site, but later succumbed to his injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 05:00, when the Sawang Boriboon Dhammasathan Foundation received an alert about a person who had fallen from a hotel. A security guard witnessed the man, identified only as Mr. Kurtis, initially standing on the balcony with arms outstretched and appearing to be arguing on his phone,  before returning to his room and then jumping. The guard tried to help, took a photo and immediately notified the police.

Police inspection of room 514 revealed two bags of cannabis and remnants of some that had been smoked by the deceased. The room was locked from the inside, with no signs of struggle and Mr. Kurtis was the sole occupant. Authorities are investigating whether stress or other factors contributed to the plunge. His body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police Hospital, for autopsy.

Police are examining CCTV footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence to gain a full understanding of the circumstances. Local law enforcement emphasises the need for hotel staff to remain vigilant in preventing similar incidents. Investigations are ongoing, and officials have urged hotels and resorts to report any unusual behaviour among guests promptly.

To all of the above. Where does it tell that he is on a phone call with his Thai girlfriend? For all we know, he could be on phone with a girlfriend back home.

Then we have the best question: so they ruled out foul play? @save the frogs He was alone in his room on a phone call. Do you think an arm came out of the phone and slapped him down 5 floors?

@JakeC You must been having bad experience in life, as all girlfriends in your mind must be prostitutes. Feel really sad for you, man.

Is it un-alive or de-live? This one actually jumped vs the normal reporting where they fell.

Where was any involvement with prostitutes reported?

Hi Sir, welcome to our hotel.  Before you check in, can I ask if you have a Thai girlfriend from the nightlife sector?

You do?  In that case, we'll allocate you a room on the ground floor....
