The number of singles are increasing in Western countries. Some says that the independence of women – education, work and income – increase their "demands" or wishes for the perfect partner, so a potential partner is either very difficult to find or the women just prefers to stay single.

 

From my observations the same seems to be happening in Thailand. The fertility rate is (way) down – the population is decreasing like in most Western countries – and many women seems to be in an independant and stronger position, where they don't need a husband/man as provider. Thai ladies also seems to have higher dreams about a partner and don't want to tie knots too early...👍

 

I fully understand them – perhaps the dream knight on the white horse – or today in the white Mercedes or Porche – is waiting just around the next corner. Furthermore, the Thai girls are as skeptic about foreigners and their true intentions, as we foreigners are about Thai ladies and thirs intentions...

Yes, KhunPer, as always you hit the nail on the head, I think keeping her "un-bored" so to speak is key. You can make her life easy, but if she has no challenges, nothing going on, she'll be so bored she'll go seeking adventure.

 

Even a hard life, if entertaining, they will prefer to an easy life. It is so.

 

And you're also right that women's demands are increasing. Not just the younger good looking ones, all across the board.

 

Whilst women do not really care about money as a primary criterion to choose you, you do have to have a modicum of funds to fulfill all these expectations, particularly the fun criterion. Money enables you to give her a fun experience. If you don't have money and can't go dating, you have no chance.

 

It's really not easy, like last weekend, I took this wonderful CM girl to a 5 star  hotel for dinner, then the best bar in CM for live music. Now the third date, I have to again organize a "fun time".. And this never stops. Never. All my life I will have to do this.

Sorry if I'm being a bit too direct, but things need to be put into context. So, on one hand, we have a farang (foreigner) over 50 years old, convinced he's the idol of his ladies, who's become obsessed with a high-class escort and is playing the shocked guy because she has no desire to go to bury herself in Chiang Mai with a guy she's never met. 

And on the other hand, a girl who lives by the sea probably earns more than him, with offers coming from all directions from men of all nationalities and all ages, who enjoys life! 

In any case, I loved the word "unethical" In a country known for sex tourism, it's priceless.

An English journalist once wrote: "Would it ever occur to you in your country to marry A farmer turned prostitute? No. Then why are you doing it here?" Keep that in mind.

The main resaon is that I have found a girl of substance, a truly good girl, who speaks perfect English, a Christian Thai from a good family, who is beautiful, fun and just amazing. I have my third date with her tomorrow.

 

So I don't want to meet any Phuket Girl who loves money, even if she's not a pro, as I don't think she is on the level fo the CM girl. I will let the latter play out a bit and then make a call on Phuket Girl, who I suspect will always only be a fun girl for a week or so.

BKK girl said, after I threw her out, before she comes back she wants to have made money. This was a year ago. She tried to make dresses and sold them at market. Best she can make is 2000 baht a day. But she can't do it consistently, sometimes only 500 baht.

 

She took a job in a factory. As that only paid 8000 baht for 12 hours a day back breaking work starting at 5.30 am, she quit there. The money she now makes with the dresses the mother grabs off her for rent, electricity, food and everything else. It's been a year, and she is still not making money. If I had not sent her 8000 baht a month, somtimes more, she and her mother couldn't make rent.

Great that you have found someone nearby. English – or whatever language both can speak to a good communicative degree – is in my view and experience very important for a succesful relationship. For a girlfriend not to get bored, English language school can be an excellent solution for both parts. It improves the communication, and if something going south in the relationship, the girls has a gift for her future.

 

I also used book – let my girlfriend read, which also helps boredom – and offered to pay for whatever books she found of interest, and being willing to help finding litterature. Actually, my girlfriend found interest i Dan Brown's thrillers, beginning with the "da Vinci Code", which could be followed up by watching the film. In my case I was even in a situation, where we could visit the actual places, so we followed up by trips to Paris and Rome. In that way we shared a lot beyond the bedroom amusement and my money; exciting travelling and places like Louvre and Vatican became of interest, later many more places, also locally both within Thailand and neighbouring countries with modest accommodation; it don't need to be some extremely expensive.

However, we Western foreigners might still have to think a bit old-fashioned, thinking back to that time in our home countries, where a man was the provider for a family. Even that "good girls" don't ask for money (in the beginning) and even sometimes insist of paying their own part of a bill when dating – so, they are not dependent of paying anything back, one way ot the other – the money- and provider-issue can appear later, when dating converts to a level of relationship. We are all different in details, but generally it's a matter of balance – everything is a matter of balance, the World is not only black and white, there are furthermore "50 shades of gray" – but, a for both parts reasonable level of allowance can be a solution. Also, because an allowance let the partner be in own control of money and no need to ask for some (all the time). I also think this is the best solution. It's also how it was dealt with in our own countries in the past, the woman would get "household" money. You make clear this is her budget. Then she can handle that money. With BKK girl it would be useless, as that money would go straight to her mother. But with a more sensible girl, or rather one not encumbered by a no-good mother, that makes the most sense. I don't think the girls like to ask for money at all. Ideally you give it to them before they even ask, but if they get a reasonable allowance, they don't have to ask.

This is true of course.

 

But every relationship started with a one-night stand. Wth some first dates. So, step by step. I will take out CM girl to yet another 5 star venue, and then one of the best bars in Thailand. 

 

The immediate escalation target here is kiss, sex and she stays the night. Then daytime dates, with frequency increased to 2 or 3 dates per week instead of one.

 

Obviously once the long game starts it will be harder.

 

However, the initial targets now are more modest. This is really the most fun time therefore.
