Cold fusion.

And what has cold fusion got to do with Trump not understanding what magnets are, or when they started being used?

If you read my previous reply on this thread you might get the link.

"China has the monopolies in magnets".. what a moron this bloke is... wind some wire around any steel, pass an electric current through the wire and hey presto you have a wonderful beautiful magnet.

You can make your screw driver magnetic using , wire and a car battery.

Elementary school science, magnet under a sheet of paper sprinkle some iron filings on it, and it will show you the 'field'.

I saw a clip of Trump on an aircraft carrier and he had the crew in front, '' who thinks magnets are better than hydraulics ?" he was the only one to raise his hand.......🤣

They have the monopoly on 'rare earths' used to make strong 'permanent' magnets along with the refining and manufacture of the 'rare earths' into finished components.

What you describe is an electromagnet  which can also be very powerful  but is not 'permanent'

Maybe he was referring to the newest Chinese aircraft carrier which apparently uses a magnetic sling shot to help launch the aircraft ?

Maybe the stuff Aussies in NSW can get for 3hrs at lunchtime?

Duplicate post. Sometimes this site is annoying and opinions are poles apart.

The US, Australia and Greenland also have the 'rare earths' not just China.

No it was an American one...

They have rare earth ores, just no where to process them.

China has the most  and is specialised in processing and manufacture.

Obviously he was on an American aircraft carrier   are they using the magnetic slingshot system too..I thought it was steam powered.

The USS Gerald R. Ford was the first carrier in the world to use the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) .

Instead of steam pistons pushing a launch shuttle, EMALS uses electromagnets in a long track (linear induction motor) to propel the carriage carrying the aircraft.

Well now China has EMAiLS  too 😋

The OP can't even tell you what a woman is never mind a magnet😅

I'm pretty sure it's iron, not steel. Don't get me started on rare earth magnets.

Hmmm. Maybe that's why Trump is obsessed with rare earth minerals. He wants some magnets.

Ahh, like a rail gun then.

Gibb's. Gibb's Free Energy

Not quite — a railgun uses direct current between two conductive rails to generate a Lorentz force that propels a projectile.

EMALS uses alternating current in a series of electromagnets arranged along a track to create a moving magnetic field that pulls a launch shuttle.

Both rely on electromagnetism, but a railgun is a conduction system, while EMALS is an induction system designed for controlled acceleration, not projectile firing.

NB: The Lorentz force is the fundamental physical force that acts on a charged particle when it moves through an electric and/or magnetic field.

Thumbs up for the "poles apart" comment on a thread about magnets.

Who cares if he doesn't know everything about magnets?

Do you really expect him to know everything about everything?

When he doesn't know, most people expect a President to shut up and not tell the first BS that comes to his mind!

So the POTUS (yes, the US president, pinch yourself if necessary) sits in the space formerly known as the Oval Office, and with a straight face declare repeatedly that nobody knows what magnets are.

Nobody knows what magnets are. This is the moron with the nuclear codes, and due to the amount of lies, untruths and BS flooding out of his pie hole the world has gotten numb.

Had Biden said anything like this the whole MAGA world would have exploded. Trump wasn't, isn't and never will be fit to lead anything at all. If you started from scratch and your aim was to build the worst president possible, the result would be something closely resembling him.

25, now.

Another day, another rant, President Trump sure knows how to get in peoples head. But there is help available. Many psychologists are specializing in helping people cope with President Trumps MAGA movement.

Move along, nothing of interest here .... nothing but the billionth MAGAmoronic dismissal of justified criticism.

Yeah, but this is "Mr it's fun to stay at the YMCA" we're talking about.

it's gotta be flamboyant.

2000$ tariff checks are being discussed.

 A win-win for sure!

IF some of the republicans with half a brain manage to convince this moron out of this idea (because it will probably bankrupt the economy in short order) then the people in the states will be peed off enough to throw this joke of a guy out of power, along with his party.

IF he sends those cheques out, then we will have a financially damaged usa, which again, should result in him being impeached or otherwise "shown the door" or (God-willing) perhaps a jail cell!
