November 18, 2025Nov 18 My Facebook account has been suspended, apparently due to "advertising problems" which is strange because I have never "advertised" anything on FB?? Could my accont have been hacked and someone else is using it?? PS. Have just seen this:- We’ve noticed some unusual activity on your Facebook account and have restricted its access to advertising. Any ads connected to your account are currently disabled.

Then they asked to see a copy of my passport so I abandoned the account and started a new one.

Well the good news is that my account has been "reinstated", however just like you, I have no idea why it was suspended in the first place as I don't do any advertising/marketing although that was the reason why it was suspended – – go figure? I do use it to contact my daughter here in Thailand (Messenger) so it is useful and also for keeping in touch with folks from the UK, Australia and NZ. However I was interested to read that you "started a new one", so how did you go about that as I may need to do that in the future if this nonsense continues?

Have u ever considered to change ur FB from official to a private account? Means only friends can see ur profile and postings. And only friend of friends can send a friend request? If ur FB is an official account ur screwed about scammers and other abuse ur details.

Change your password immediately. Never except a friend request from someone that is already your F/B friend. They have been hacked also.

No profanity, just a comment.
November 30, 2025Nov 30 I had the same not long ago, But it was lifted without Facebook even telling me! I presumed it was because having a few months previously been hacked through a Facebook post conning me into logging in to get my Facebook login details, and the hacker sharing a post that would con others into doing the same, when I months later went on a friends Facebook and saw one of the offending posts there, and reiterating a warning to my friend not to fall for it, Facebook blocked me for the post that the hacker had sent. I appealed and as I said the block seemed to have been lifted quite quickly but but without any notification from Facebook.
December 7, 2025Dec 7 In France lots have been blocked, and asked to pay 7€.50 a month or, you give them access to your photos, details then it’s free. Apparently not a scam. I contacted them and asked for more details and answer was I’d been kicked out for misbehavior!!!! Ha , I only log on to see my little nephews and nieces who live abroad. Never had a discussion etc. Friends have had same . comes from Meta, and their action / demands are already in court.
December 7, 2025Dec 7 Facebook uses a constant stream of spiders and bots to uncover "abnormal" activity on its pages. The bots and spiders do indeed find attempts at hacking or "forbidden" posts and images, but also send in many false positives. Aby account reported electronically is suspended until it can be reviewed by a human staffer. Unfortunately, FB has nowhere near enough staffers to handle the thousands of false reports and it can take a long time before the account is re-instated.
December 27, 2025Dec 27 Apparently my FB account was hacked on 16 December from a location in Thailand nowhere near to where I live. But the clincher for me was the IP address quoted, which bore no resemblance to our router's. After FB first telling me that I needed to change my password and then immediately telling me that I couldn't do this for an indefinite period of time for some ridiculous reason, I've now done what I consider to be the safest (and, indeed, only) thing possible by initiating the permanent closure of my account in 30 days' time. Can't see myself losing any sleep over the loss of FB, though. I was getting heartily fed up with having to wade through a load of advertising junk on my timeline - and what little was of interest to me was, irritatingly, not set out in any chronological order. In any case, I tend to use WhatsApp much more these days for keeping in touch with friends and family back in the UK and Europe.

January 1Jan 1 Mine has been suspended this morning and is now demanding I allow them to take a video to identify me. Absolutely no idea why? Anyone else having problems with this?Just saw I'm restricted from advertising, but I've never advertised on Facebook, and never will, no reason to.Is there a way out of this, without letting them video me?
January 1Jan 1 Had the same about 3 months agoboth as you have + in Chinese Reported to Facebook = just changed password, that message never came back again.someone in China or somewhere trying to get a picture to steal your facebook account ? use for some scam ?
January 4Jan 4 A scammer could easily get a photo from my FB account, without me giving them a new one, there's plenty on there. Did the same as you, reported it, and now I'm back, with an apology for their mistake.
