Members of the “United Land Power” group gathered on 22 November 2025 at 09.00, outside the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok to protest what they described as foreign interference in Thailand’s sovereignty. Demonstrators specifically criticised US President Donald Trump, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen, calling them a “threat to Thai national security.” The protest was to continue later at the United States Embassy.

Protesters carried large vinyl banners featuring images of the three foreign leaders and slogans such as “Stop interfering in Thailand” and “ASEAN Chair must remain neutral.” Thai flags were waved as a symbolic gesture, alongside smaller signs reinforcing the message against perceived foreign influence in regional affairs.

Security measures were deployed by officers from the Metropolitan Police Division 5, Thung Mahamek Police Station, and riot control units. Barriers were placed to contain the crowd to the embassy frontage, ensuring traffic and public safety along North Sathorn Road while allowing the demonstration to proceed.

Leaders of the group took turns speaking from vehicles, accusing Anwar Ibrahim of overstepping his role as a neighbour and supporting Cambodia, which they claimed violated the Thailand-Cambodia peace agreement. They also criticised Donald Trump for urging renewed negotiations, arguing that previous Cambodian actions had already resulted in Thai soldiers losing limbs in border incidents.

Amarin reported that the protest reflects ongoing public sensitivity over Thailand’s territorial and diplomatic issues, particularly regarding Cambodia and ASEAN-related diplomacy. Authorities maintained a watchful presence and stated that demonstrations were allowed as long as public order was maintained.

Maybe it is a good idea for all countries to stop "interfering" in this country...I suppose they would start begging for help soon enough... The world can do without Thailand, but can Thailand really do without the world??

Okay then, I guess the tariffs should be increased as they no longer need any country to help them. Sink or drown.

My thoughts too.... drop Thailand like a hot stone, they'll soon beg for people to come back.

If Thailand wants to live in a bubble let them.

“threat to Thai national security.”

How ironic that in Thailand's past it did not respect sovereignty of the Malay Sultanate Kingdom of Patani by forcing its annexation of that Muslim nation into the Buddhist Kingdom of Siam.

Yep the Aunty brigade know sooo much about politics . init.....🙄

If I see these protesters, some possibly paid for appearing or simply having nothing else to do between Somtam and soap operas, I wonder what the education ministry has up their sleeves for the children and students under "politics", "explanation of democracy" and "international relations".

It is these aunties, grannies and uncles, apart from possibly intoxicated demonstrators, are on the road to fight a “threat to Thai national security”, then it clearly shows that none of them has the slightest clue of what really goes on.

This "foreign interference" is, to my humble belief, nothing but a well-meant attempt to mediate and not arbitrate. Arbitration was never the goal of Malaysia (the present chair of ASEAN) nor the United State (putting their huge nose into each and every jar). In the past, ASEAN avoided putting disputes and/or internal issues onto the agenda; this has meanwhile changed. Regretfully ASEAN seems to be the same kind of toothless tiger like all the other money-burning congregations of diplomats, be it the UN or any of their subdivisions .........

The facts are quite clear, both Thailand and Cambodia are run by self-centered kindergarteners with the fear of losing face and hence will have to hit and spit at each other until the commotion will eventually lose steam. As long as you have Hun Sen as a Senate President, Thaksin remote controlling politics for decades from faraway lands or in custody, leaders like Anutin and Thammanat under directions of the Buriramian crowd, you will never even see democracy of the 21st century on the horizon of either country.

But as long as nobody gets hurt, let the kids on both sides of the fence verbally attack and accuse each other until nobody is listening anymore. At least there is some activities recorded on the front of the elderlies and lesser educated slice of the Thai voter base!

And what did thailand to when allied with japan during ww2 ?.

Tortured and beat the British Troops worse than the Japanese soldiers....that is what they did.  So much so, that after WW2, the UK was going after them, but Truman said no....we need airbases for our upcoming adventures in this part of the world.

Ah ha!  The Thai pooh stirrers are on the march again!

Occupational therapy. Keeps 'em out the pubs.

And yet China the only foreign country influencing and running amok in LOS isn't mentioned.  Wonder who paid for the protest?

Inconvenient Truths?

Are not Thai government officials frequently involved in facilitating the entry and stay of illegal Chinese workers and gangs in Thailand?

Did not the Thai Army provide assistance to the Khmer Rouge in the late 1970s and during the 1980s?

Was not the leader of the Khmer Rouge, Pol Pot, a one time guest on a Thai Army base?

Thais officials are involved in the Chinese-run scam centres in Cambodia and Myanmar, including providing "resources" to the scam centres along the Thai borders.?

Etc.
