Filming in bars NO, in public I thought was legal..:coffee1:

Not filming of people without permission.

The truth is not much appreciated here.

I expect questioning a street worker as to it's gender just got a bit risky.

Incorrect...... as the topic suggests some violations here. If they catch this guy, he will be doing some grovelling apology in a police station.

Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

This law is a joke. It only works when a Thai is caught in the act or when it projects negativity. Why is this law not enforced when they secretly film foreigners in VDOs? Which happens a lot more than this stupid few clips.

I see this as a public service. Gets anyone who watches to question a so called lady (ladyboy)s actual sex. There should be. a law against ladyboys who misrepresent. themselves posing and claiming to be a real woman. If they had this, there would be a lot less conflicts once it is learned they were actually ladyboys.

I am not against there being ladyboys. I am however against being lied to about their real sex (having a pecker) when being talked to. There are also a lot of problems with this when the man learns it is not a real woman as well.

There are cameras recording us everywhere nowadays. Even here in Thailand, so I don't think filming in public itself is illegal. though Thailand may have some specific privacy / data protection laws this guy s breaking.

If I were him, I would be more worried if a crowd of said ladyboys actually catch him in the act of recording them. High heels at dawn looks quite painful when they are swinging them at someone's head.

These guys are using those camera glasses now, harder to spot

Ikr , I watch these utube streamers filming  all the bars in the red light districts and 💯 they have hidden cameras . I remember  around 15 years ago some Swedish couple setting up a camera on a tripod on Sukhumvit thinking it was ok …they soon found out it wasn’t even after I and others gave them a friendly warning.  I wonder how many guys playing away have seen themselves on these uploads 😂

Hookers on the street….privacy is not a reasonable expectation !

Would such a law exist in your own country?

Most Western nations have enacted laws pretty much doing the opposite.

Do let him film the action...

as far as i know, you have to ask permission first, from the person you want to film

I don't know what the rules are in Thailand but in the UK, if you are in a public place then you can be filmed and from watching too many YouTube videos I think it's the same in the US. There are some exceptions and harassing someone probably would be one.

As for guessing their gender, that could just be an admission of how good he thinks some of them look.

Invasion of privacy...these ytube <deleted> video me theyre in for  a good kicking.

I predict a review of his visa and a quiet deportation.  He is clearly working illegally.

Could file complaint with YouTube and they would probably take down the video.

We try to live a nice respectful life here in Thailand and a bunch of idiot foreigners always have to come here and cause problems.

Maybe scrutinizing these idiots at the airport and sending them back isn't a bad idea after all.

We mostly live in harmony with one another and have a good life, the fewer influencers who exploit Thailand the better

No privacy in public.

Who gives a sh@t because I don't.They don't need videos because they get enough headlies through own dubious activities.

No. Many civilized countries have privacy laws. France and Canada are two of them.  USA has variable state laws.

Recording in public, which is what the subject here is, is legal in France and Canada.  The US does not have variable laws concerning recording in public, the Constitution gives everyone the right to record in public.

There are too many foreigners walking around taking vidios and infringing on people's privacy and posting the content on social media often with their negative opinions

I've seen the classless videos from this low life scumbag. He is clearly a low intelligence idiot and should be deported.

I would also note that he sounds like he is from india

To save all confusion why don’t the Lady boys display a a badge similar to a name  badge reading “ Ladyboy”  I know it sounds too simple and some people would say too stupid

I appreciate that you seem to have  an emotional condition that has you argue for the sake of arguing, but you are wrong.

Article 9, Section  3.4  of the French Penal Code  states that  Every person has an exclusive right to their image and its use. The publication or use of a person's image without their consent infringes upon their privacy. The exceptions are the images taken of people at a riot, or of a public person like a government official, while carrying out their official functions.

Canada has a similar law in respect to the manner in which the videos were made with these ladyboys. This was not in a public venue and was not taken with the consent of the ladyboys. You also ignore the fact that permission was never given,  and that there was an expectation of privacy because the bars do not allow staff and customers to be recorded without their permission.

You are also wrong in respect to the USA. The laws vary by state. The questions asked to the ladyboys were in a private conversation.  Multiple US states require that the person recording obtain the consent of every person in the conversation prior to recording. Some of the states are California, Florida and Massachusetts,

Too many of late talking about Thailand and mostly rehashed <deleted>e or misinformation. You get them being here for a month then uploading advice but it’s usually just a copy and paste off anything you can find off the internet  that’s been easily available for years. Obviously there are some great ones like from Pat which are excellent .

Many individuals contacted the man, identified as “Yaribal” on social media, demanding deletion of the videos. However, their requests were ignored. Critics argue these actions breach Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). But get hospitalized and have a handful of Thai "press" show up in your hospital room to "report on the incident."

Well, the other way round the ladies of the extra gender pickpocket anything they can get .... which is quite obviously OK as such headlines appear nightly in the city which is known for its temples, orchid farms and as a pristine family destination.

There is so many wannabe’s influencers who posts from beach road and soi 6 who are just low life trying to entertain their audience.

So F idiots around of all ages and kinds making short clips and content from Thailand these days. Different time different rules should apply for real

Mmmmm, if true then Thais completely ignore it. Numerous times I've asked Thais not to photo or film me and also delete me from anything they've shot.

False according to Integrity Legal Video titled "Reminder, Filming people without consent is a crime in Thailand"  Additionally web says it violates Privacy Laws and the Personal Data Protection Act.

Talks about filming people incidently for personal use and filming people deliberately and if it causes distress or damage to their reputation it could be a crime.

What is you are photographing a crown scene? Ask everyone in the crown for permission?

I have seen the videos  and  the producers sound like Indians. It  is cheap thrills and  maybe show to their friends back home and have a laugh.

Which brings me back to the type of tourists the country is attracting.Pattaya is full of these cheap thrills tourists who probably cannot afford the prices and from what I have been hearing nor can I.

The other side of the coin bus loads of Chinese  tourist were noise levels drive everybody mad at the hotels. Here for a few days  turn the hotel into a madhouse where  the buffet bar  is like a bomb has it and the poor  house maids working until 7pm to clean the rooms.

Us poor Farangs  with currencies  exchanges so low are looking for better value places.Yesterday I was quoted  3500-4350 baht to have   shorts tailored made, something that I  I use to have made for around 1000 baht.

One thing that is still very cheap is the hotel rooms  as tourist have stopped coming. This time of the year  we are getting into peak season and it is noticable how inexpensive the room rates if you shop around.
