Lazada and Shopee - which one you find better ?

Featured Replies

Lazada we have a complaint and you try to get a refund it’s like a hassle I’ve noticed lately way back it was easier so I’ve switched now to use TEMU and you call me speak to a person they have the problem solved with one or two minutes I only use the other company because they have a larger selection of like different vitamins that I need and etc. but as far as customer service goes they just went downhill fast but I’m happy as far as customer services were TEMU they always sign the problem usually within a few seconds and it’s people you’re talking to they all speak good English to from the Philippines so I haven’t had too much problems TIT

  • I mostly use Shopee now because it's cheaper and often free delivery, i always compare with Lazada first

  • Same here.

  • Haven't used Lazada for quite a while. I find most Shopee shops to be responsive and positive when any issues arise. I've had missing items sent, unacceptable items fully refunded and in the few unres

I've been using Lazada for along time and mostly go there out of habit.

Recently been having problems with sellers lying misleading and downright scamming..

So I turned to Shopee, I was surprised to see in many instances they are actually cheaper.

Whats your experience and preference ?

Oh and I also heard they were the same company, apparently thats false.

No. Lazada and Shopee are not the same company.
Ownership and companies behind them
Lazada is owned by Alibaba Group, a major Chinese e-commerce and tech company. It started in Singapore before being acquired by Alibaba.

Shopee is owned by Sea Group, a Singapore-headquartered tech firm with backing from Tencent (a large Chinese investor). It launched later than Lazada.

I have tried to join Shopee, but they keep on puttin obstacles in the way, I just can't find a way round it.

What issues do you have, Lazada is spot on for me.

Always being given puzzles to do and although they get to my email address it just stops. But it now seems I can get through by using my phone number.

Good to know... I've been a lazada buyer for Year's ... Free delivery is a big incentive for me

Lazada seems to be having a problem with Bangkok Bank cards. Told me weeks ago they were working on it but still not working. Anyone know what the problem is ?

I never have used my bank card. You don't use the app on a mobile?

I find Lazada more straightforward than Shopee to deal with. I have ordered COD from Lazada for many years with no problems, and continue to do so.

Shopee. After getting a refund to the wallet on Lazada, to which I had no access, I stopped using Lazada. Never had a problem with Shopee, touch wood.

The captcha puzzles have become a complete PITA. Quite often now I find that I have to do several rounds and when I do eventually get in I get presented with 'We have detected unusual traffic from your network. Please try again later.' It seems easier to get in using Firefox rather than Brave but even then I have to respond to an SMS that they send to my phone.

Shopee is little chesaper with many products. Also, in case of cancellation – can for example be due to slow seller or out of stock – prepaid money is instantly returned to one's bank account, while Lazada place them into their wallet-system, from where it is a bit difficult to get the funds back in cash, if not using the wallet.

Shopee almost always sends parcels by Kerry. The Kerry drivers have too often just left my packages sitting outside our fence. So I almost exclusively use Lazada which usually ships with Flash. I know the Flash drivers and they ALWAYS call me before delivering. So unless my Shopee order is COD, I will exclusively shop Lazada.

I find Shopee cheaper than Lazada everytime except the other day, chocolate dried bananas were a little more. With Shopee often free deliver for under 49 baht items unlike Lazada

Yes I do use the app. What relevance does that have to them not accepting BB cards ???

I apologize.

As I am a lazy person I prefer not have to type in every time account numbers, amount etc.

Your nickname @GoFaster seemed to me that you prefer doing things faster 🙂.

I stopped using Lazada. For some reason they gave me a different account number, meaning I had 2 different accounts with them. I call and they said they would look into it. Nothing happened for a month. I called back and asked to delete all my accounts and then inform them that I would create a new account once all old accounts were deleted. A month after I deleted the accounts, I tried to create a new account, but could not since my email was still on file with them. So I started using Shopee and found it easier to work with. I don't know if items are cheaper, but they seem to be good value. So, with Lazada you get hassles and with Shopee you get hassle free. It's a no brainer which is better.

I have been getting some good stuff in TikTok shops, some good bedding deals, very fast delivery
