Where To Buy 50 Inch TV In Chiang Mai, Good Price

Featured Replies

I live with my Thai son, his Thai wife and 4 kids here in CM. We bought an LG 50 inch about 11  years ago and it's given good service. But recently it started to suddenly go to black screen then after maybe 1 minute or maybe after 2 hrs suddenly the picture comes back.

Seems that the problem is with the internal electric supply in the TV, rather than any problem with the signal (AIS PLAY), because when the picture comes back it's instantly on the program that was on screen before it went to black.

Daughter in law got several quotes for repairs including LG service opposite SiamTV, all about 3,000Baht.

My son wants to buy new 50 inch, no bigger because it woud mean having the TV cabinet reconstructed. The 4 kids want 85 inch but son is digging his heels in sayiny 50 inch is big enough.

(* 8 montshs ago farang neighbor bought a Samsung 85 inch, installed in a quite small TV room, but his Thai wife can't watch it because it gives her a headache, she had to sit about 1 meter from the screen, too close. So she goes to her big bedroom and watches her programs on a 42inch Samsung.)

So looking for any advice on buying a new 50 inch (brand and price). Not much concerned about new technologies as long as the picture is clear.

Any comments much appreciated, thanks.

Electirc supply is from a multi plug power board. That's been checked and is not the issue plus 2 other devices taking power from that power board have no problems.

You don't wanna order those online, they break easily even it has warranty, not worth the 1-2K savings compared to getting it from a real shop.

Not at all, they are usually just 1-1.5K more in BigC etc. HomePro usually 2K with safe delivery VS lazada etc.

My 75" was delivered by Lazada without problems. 75 inch now 13k5, 85 inch 26k. 3 year warranty.

Learn to read; easy to break, in that case a lot hassle and delay with getting a replacement.

Big C for me if you have time to wait for specials to come out.

Always found the specials at Big C to be better than other places (in my opinion).

I wonder where the TCL 'seconds' are off-loaded......:whistling:

Siam TV has good prices and showroom on the south side of the moat... Also thier website has more selections that you can order and pickup at their store or delivery for free

Sure had one bad experience with them, bought a bigger size HP compter build into the not too 'fat' screen.

Son insisted that it be taken from box and plugged in inside SiamTv, and it seemed to work OK.

At home it wouldn't start.

Son took it back to the salesman, there within 20 minutes. Saleman refused to discuss insisted we go the service / repairs building behind the main store.

Rude technician initially refused to accept that it wouldn't work but refused to plug it in.

Son insisted on talking to supervisor who was even less inclined to show any politeness or action. Then he said to my son 'do you have an electric plug adaptor because the 3 pin plug on the computer couldn't be plugged into any elec. outlets in their service dept.

Son now annoyed said that he didn't believe that was true. Service staff all walked away and refusd to talk to us.

Son decided that more discssion would lead nowhere so he went to Amorn electrics (then at Big C Extra) and bought several same pin set up and checked that the plus on the HP device would plug in.

Then back to SiamTV and supervisor intervened 'this plug (bought at Amorn) has not been tested by our electrical engineer, cCome back tomorrow'.

Next morning at SiamTV service counter no poitness of any sort, just '2 weeks'.

Son tried for an improvement on the '2 weeks' and got nowhere.

Went back 2 weeks. another person also waiting, when son's new HP brought to the counter the other prson spoke up and said 'there's an issue with the Microsoft software with this model'. Turned out the other customer was a Microsoft engineer.

Microsoft engineer asked for the HP computer to be switched on. Wouldn't work.

Microsoft engineer asked my son to folow him to the M'soft office / workshop (in CM), his technician corrected the software problem in 2 minutes and it worked.

Well, yes, good question. I buy a lot of stuff on Lazada, but little money stuff, or things I can only get through them, which mainly comes from China, though never electronics, except, our wash machine circuit board, the big DIY stores for the rest.....🤗

TCL and Hisense offical stores on Lazada use their own delivery. Certainly did a few weeks ago. I found Hisense chat on Lazada very helpful and attentive.

I'd never buy in-store again, If Lotus or Big C or PowerBuy online Lazada/Shopee are selling at the best price I'll choose them
