Police have arrested a 26-year-old British man in Kantharalak district, Si Sa Ket province, after he fled the United Kingdom while facing serious domestic abuse allegations, authorities said on December 26, 2025. The arrest followed international cooperation and marks a key step towards extraditing the suspect back to the UK to face prosecution. Police said the case highlights ongoing efforts to track fugitives accused of violent crimes across borders.

The suspect, identified by police only as Nicholas, was detained along a roadside in Kantharalak district, Sisaket province, on December 26. Officers from Thailand’s Central Investigation Bureau and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division carried out the arrest. Authorities said he had been living in Thailand since 2022 after allegedly fleeing the UK.

According to investigators, Nicholas is wanted in Britain for a series of alleged offences against his wife. These include unlawful detention, physical assault, coercive or controlling behaviour against an intimate partner, intentional administration of poisonous or dangerous substances, causing bodily harm, assault and property damage. Police said he allegedly beat his wife with a BB gun and forced her to swallow more than 100 tablets of various medications before escaping the country.

The UK’s National Crime Agency tracked the suspect’s location and requested assistance from Thai authorities. Thai police said an arrest warrant was issued by the Criminal Court on December 3, 2025, enabling local authorities to detain him. During questioning, the suspect denied all allegations, police said.

Law enforcement officials said the case demonstrates close cooperation between Thai police and international partners in pursuing suspects accused of serious crimes. Thai authorities confirmed the suspect has been handed over to prosecutors as part of the extradition process. The case may also reinforce ongoing efforts to combat domestic abuse and ensure suspects cannot evade justice by leaving their home countries.

Naewna reported that prosecutors are expected to proceed with formal extradition steps in line with Thai and international law. Authorities said the suspect will remain in custody while legal procedures continue. British officials are expected to coordinate with Thai counterparts to secure his return to the United Kingdom to face trial.

I'm a very bad criminal .................

Best not to assume men are guilty.

Women lie and make false reports to police, no evidence required.

I think you’re confusing us with the Americans, no self respecting Brit would wear socks with Sliders (They’re not Sandals btw).

Why do you think one is needed? They knew where he was and liaised with Thai authorities, all legally and properly. Nothing to do with interpol notices.

I did not suggest one was needed for this or any other foreign fugitive,   I was enquiring as to when they are required

You beat me to it.

If you read the UK paper's articles on this nutcase, then he is a major psycho that should be locked away for a long time... complete PoS. Hope the Thais send him the the BBK Hilton for a week or two to get some introspection on what a pile of manure he really is.

Weeeell, as an English chap, I do wear socks, though not white ones, always black, why, who on earth wants sand chaffing away under your feet, and bugs biting your ankles every day, not me.............😁

I found myself wondering why a guy from the UK is embracing the popular German fashion trend of wearing socks. At least they arent pulled all the way up to the knees😆

I congratulate what the Thai police are doing but I have to question why the RedBull fugitive manages to enjoy FREEDOM when he killed one of their senior police officers !

Women can be evil creatures at times. We're so quick to jump to conclusions.
