Across America, the ultra-wealthy are quietly retreating behind walls, moats, biometric gates, and armed private security forces, building heavily-guarded modern-day fortresses at a pace the country hasn’t seen in generations.

Well, this is all well in good, for a short period of time....say...

Maybe a week or two.

But, what I REALLY want to know is what will happen to them if they might suddenly ....

RUN OUT of RAM

You see, people who hide in bunkers are engaged in fantasy, and a....very, much....

LOSING GAME.

It's like they STILL believe in the BIG BAD WOLF, for something.

I just hope that they have PLENTY of DRAM....

And, a Dentist, or two....

Standing by...

JUST IN CASE

Note:  These types, the ultra-rich, at total nitwits. They can't see clearly simply because their minds are WARPED.....

And, also...they are our leaders, in many cases, deciding the path our world takes.

WARPED LEADERS lead us to a very BENT FUTURE.....

And, some of you still wonder what is wrong with our world?

Here an example of a bunker in Stone Creek Ranch in Delray Beach, Florida.   I like the machine gun nests.

Let me think...Maybe those people have a few different properties in different countries or continents. Not far from where I live there is a 21 rooms mansion owned by a family of five. Maybe even my neighbor has a second home somewhere. I guess Jeff Epstein had all those mansions and even an island to be close to his "family". There are many reasons why someone would have multiple properties....

What a lot of rubbish. Gated communities have been around for decades.

Why is Mark Zuckerberg building a private apocalypse bunker in Hawaii?

The crown jewel of the $270m project is a 5,000-sq-ft underground shelter with “its own energy and food supplies” and “what appears to be a blast-resistant door”.

He has good connections and inside knowledge.  During the so called "pandemic", Facebook was censoring anything that did not go with the script. He has his own ranch while the regular Joe will be eating lab meat Made In Israel.

There was a time where the "Soviet Union" had to fall. There will be a time when the Western/US system has to fall. No political system can survive, if 90% of the wealth of a nation finds ist's way to the pockets of 10% of a financial/political elite.

The system will fail but the nation will live on. True wealth is in land, your people and your family.

Retreating into a fortified complex will not really help in other than the very short term if the bulk of the population are sufficiently dischuffed that you feel:

Political polarization is reaching a breaking point, economic instability is squeezing the middle class dry, you fear supply chain collapse or social fragmentation, you anticipate a potential geopolitical conflict spilling over into domestic life and have growing distrust in federal institutions and national security readiness.

Billionsaires are the reason we are all broke and destitute.

It's essential to be prepared for climate change.

But wealth is partly a matter of perspective.

Yes, you can live in a mansion if you're rich.

But in some ways, the gaps between rich and poor will actually narrow more and more with advancing tech.

What is a self-driving car? Who used to have drivers in the past? The rich guy with a Rolls Royce. Now, everyone can afford a chauffeur. Even if you may not own the car, but maybe ownership is over-rated. Ownership of fancy items is mostly a vain pursuit to impress others and act like you're more important than others. Is that what you want?

With Optimus, maybe only middle class will be able to afford one at first. But eventually the prices may come down to where almost anyone can have a robot butler in the home.

And same with medicine. If tech does the heavy lifting, anyone in the world can have cheap access to the best surgeon in the world.

Things are trending toward being cheaper, so being rich is becoming less important.

Everytime I arrive Suvarnabhumi Airport, I have the dilemma using a standard Taxi, or pay 200 baht more for a decent suv to our hotel in Bangkok! Normal taxi is just <deleted> drive with an old car with no suspension left, and since it is a number taxi downstairs, you also have to haggle about the price. Just so tired of that, and you think money will not matter in the future as it always have done?

Why would the rich need the poor in the future, when robots can do everything? Normal people is just dead weight for the rich where they can have all the security bu trusted robots and services available. No more need for the poor and middle class anymore. Can start fix the planet with less needs.

The title of article mentions the word 'Bunker'. Obvious the word 'bunker' has a few different meanings but when it is applied to this article I suspect it means (quote)

An underground fortification, often with a concrete projection above ground level for observation or gun emplacements.

or

a shelter, usually underground, that has strong walls to protect the people inside it from bullets or bombs

These fortified enclaves, staffed by ex-military professionals and locked down with surveillance tech straight out of an intelligence agency, are becoming the new safe havens of the elite.

What a great idea and when they are all inside their bunkers close the gates and not let them out.

So why isn't it mentioned. The use of the word "bunker" in title would seem to be using poetic license.

Easy to understand, Largely a result of a book that hit the NYT bestseller list last year

Asking for a friend.

PS: He's not in Thailand either

I believe the OP has conflated bunker with bunkum.

History will repeat itself.
