Antisemitism?

Erika Kirk, widow of slain right-wing preacher, Charlie Kirk, doesn’t hate Jews.

She just thinks they should be Christian.

Bob Milgrim, an audience member whose daughter Sarah was killed in an act of horrific antisemitic violence in May, asked Kirk to condemn antisemitism, Holocaust denial, and anti-Zionism.

This was reasonable. Also odd. Why ask about an antisemitic hate crime when the topic is political violence, occasioned by the assassination of Kirk’s non-Jewish husband Charlie, a Christian nationalist?

I consider this topic rather bizarre and a cynical attempt at baiting, but I do have a comment.

The reason Is very obvious.

Israel needs and welcomes all the friends and supporters they can get.

That is normal self interest.

They know quite well about the belief system of evangelical Christians that when their savior returns, all Jews are doomed, but as they are aren't evangelical themselves and don't share their belief system, they can easily ignore that unpleasant part of the relationship.

According to many who were brainwashed from childhood to believe all sorts of magical miracles Jesus was a blonde haired blue eyed guy that one of these days will return to kick some serious ass....the fact is that if a Jesus actually did return to earth and show up at the doorstep of most american christians they would not let him in and call ICE to detain and deport him.

I'm sure you are right about that. And I'm also sure the Real Jesus from Nazareth called Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ), would had been outraged to see and experience what have been done in his name. Same for Buddha, where both have been ordinary men in flesh and blood, but for the time being were renowned for their compelling charisma and profound eloquence, which allowed them to draw significant attention to their teachings".

Trouble is, it's their teachings--the one true thing--which are ignored and replaced by worship as a personality cult, empty ritual, superstition & profit. Worse yet, Abraham, Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed are used to create divisions, hatred and wars.

The teachings remain valuable in every age. Too much work to follow them.

I'm not even convinced Jesus wasn't fabricated.

But even if he wasn't, at least some of his teachings are nonsense.

"Turn the other cheek" is a recipe for people screwing you over repeatedly.

Anyway, the entire concept is ludicrous. If the "son of God" actually came to Earth, the entire population would have been transformed. Instead, we still have endless warfare 2000 years later.

That would imply that "the son of God" was a complete failure.

That he was fabricated makes more sense to me than he came to try to help humans, but he couldn't quite pull it off.

Sorry, Froggy, I find your reply to be deflection. Somebody had to write the teachings, no matter who it was. We'd all be better off if we could practice at least some of those teachings.

We can be bickering about texts that do not exists in real time, so? As the story goes, Jesus was convicted because of blasphemy, accused by the Jews.

What really happened and who Jesus really was, we will never know. Even some people claims they know, we can for sure say nobody knows.
