The supermarkets in most places don't open until 10 AM and close at 9 PM. In Hua Hin those are the hours for the big 2 shopping plazas and the selection isn't that great. Most Tops wine cellar hours have a slightly better selection are 11 AM-10 PM and I have noticed that they are not particularly busy before 2 PM.

The reason for the 2-5 was BS and I'm guessing the 11 am start was for the same reason although I have never seen any actual reason for the 11 am start. As for supermarkets opening at 10 I'm not sure where you get that from.

Again......Not all vacuum cleaners are made by Hoover but 'do the hoovering' was often used in the UK to mean vacuuming the carpets. It became a generic term like Mom and pop shops......
