Nah, just breed square chickens; problem solved.

Or chickens with square backsides! :o

Hmm, you'd need square cockrels as well... :o

Yeah things are just getting a bit too square. Let's stick with the original 'egg' shape.

They must have been once, all of them.

He's full of 'em, Tiggs. I mean, he has six just on his avatar!

very observant of you...

Square eggs? Square is a planar shape, the term should be cubic. [Another nitpicking moment brought to you by TV]

all sounds very Picassonic to me.

I used to have one of their radios...............

Shouldn't that be Picassoesque?

:o nice one...

The title says it all, it is a serious discussion about the shape of eggs. Please keep it on topic!

Why are eggs egg-shaped

So that things won't go pear-shaped.

Sorry to read in the "Patters Forum" that your Bus Trip to Chiang Mai for the BBQ went "Egg Shaped" :D or as "meadish_sweetball" put it much better, you really put your "Heart and Soul" into that one to arrange it.

Shame really.

Hope you are going still though. :o

The Colonel :D

All points P, for which the distances of two fixed points or foci F1 and F2 have a constant sum, form an ellipse. The ellipse in the centre position has the following cartesian equation.

The parameters a and b are called lengths of axis.

The ellipse is the formula of a relation. ......

The ellipse on the left has the equation

The constant sum is 2a=6.

... You can add two halves of different ellipses to form a chicken egg.

From the Oval to the Egg Shape

You can develop the shape of a hen egg, if you change the equation of a oval a little. You multiply y or y² by a suitable term t(x), so that y becomes larger on the right side of the y-axis and smaller on the left side. y(x=0) must not be changed.

The equation of the ellipse e.g. x²/9+y²/4=1 change to x²/9+y²/4*t(x)=1. Here you multiply y² with t(x).

No Yoke. So what has this to do with a Scotch Egg prices made in Pattaya, I ask you :D

Kan Win :o

What about people with heads shaped like eggs?

They do not fit in Egg Cups - unless they are very large and made by Ikea.

People with heads shaped like eggs

go join the British Police Force

because they are they only ones that have Helmets to fit them

Kan delivers what shoud have been the last word!

What an egg-head...

Not in mine nor in your life time "Oh Faithful One" shall we get the last word in, but a good try, :D

Just for raro and then once again it did go .....Egg Shaped.....and even ......Pear-shaped...... Chaing Mai BBQ :D Shame really, as all did put their hearts and soul into this function. :o

I feel like a 17 year old again.

Hmm, know what you mean Thadders. Round about now, I'd be drawing Spitfires and Bf109s in my rough book. I could do a pretty mean Spitfire by the time I left Grammar School. Pity there wasn't an O-level for that. :o

Send missus to Dr 90210 for reconstructions

It would make them easier to package if they were nice and cube shaped. But if they were, what would the chickens that were hatched from those cube shaped eggs look like ?

Maybe a marketing idea there. After all, if the Japanese can grow square Watermelons, why not square eggs ?

What a coincidence. I just had some pics of Japanese watermelons emailed to me. I'll bet if we suggest it to the right people, they could do the same with eggs:

And it's not just eggs that are oval shaped. What do you think this is ?

Thanks in advance,

Well of course, the egg was laid by the Rattan Bunny ! Kind of like the Easter Bunny, but instead of cream-filled chocolate eggs, the Rattan Bunny lays pre-assembled furniture eggs (not as much fun to eat, but much easier to sit on !). :o

Actually, the pics were sent to me in a (fw: fw: fw: fw: fw:) email. After I copied the pics and posted them, I deleted the email. Not sure where it (the email or the pics) originated from, but everyone in the pics is caucasian (the pics here and the ones I didn't bother copying). Tried a brief google but don't have the time to search very much.

Hi "Kerryd",

Kan not help you as this time I was not on the same mailing list as you are on. (to answer your question in a earlier "Fred").

Daddy, how was I born?

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?'

The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:-

Scroll down...You'll love this ....

'You got Male!'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that is what I call an egg-head.

Kan Win :o

You lot are about as useful as a chocolate teapot! :o

That'll teach me to expect sense out Bedlam. :D

Thanks anyway.

JxP

A chocolate teapot could be used for ice tea! :o
