some good thunder at 18:30 CMU...unless it was a chem lab explosion. Anyone have rain?

I think the drop count reached double figures.

A few drops out at Mae Rim but like a lot of places.... a lot of noise, wind and lightning without a good downpour. Hope we see some good rain soon, the place is looking a bit parched wai2.gif

See it now on the radar. Looks serious.

We have rain at Nimmanhamin, and a little bit of hail, strong winds, power fluctuations, and I have a party to go to and will be late. I don't care, it's rain, we need it, it's good!

Currently sitting in a blackout with candles in saraphi area.

The mother of all storms had just hit, hailstones.....it hot inside with no fan, and four of us playing on our phones.

Thank god for smart phones

1900 pm - 1945 pm/ 29 April, I think we had a bit hailstorm in Nimmanhaemin, dare not venture out to see. Followed by a usual ugly blackout.

A cool breeze to the south followed by a gentle 20 minute sprinkle. Took the cool air as a opportunity to fit the baby seat, always a sweaty job.

30 minutes of rain, hail and wind at Banwangtan,Hang Dong....lovely,.................bit of a clean up tomorrow but its taken the heat out of the ground and surprisingly no power loss.

Apparently there have been some pretty violent storms around the country, a few roofs lifted, more storms to come.

Aftermath at Chiang Mai University. Two locations near each other and suspect bunch more throughout the university.

Yes the guy at the pool I go to was busy skimming leaves today too :)

One thing about Thailand when it gets ready to storm for even a short blast,

the winds etc. can be quite fierce.

Heavy 4:30 AM rain. Yesterday was the first day in two weeks with no rain, and we're not even into the rainy season yet.

Big storm - lightning, gale force winds & heavy rain blew through south of San Kamphaeng at 3.00 am. Still haven't cleared up storm damage to trees from earlier in the week.

This is now rainy season so we will no longer need to post for each event.... let's put this thread to bed 'till next dry season.

What about flood season? What about when it rains non-stop for 48hrs? What about when we don't see rain for 10 days in the rainy season? Why are you trying to prevent discussion of rain?

And to declare rainy season at the beginning of May, that's certainly up for discussion.

If we are lucky, he is right, but I certainly wouldn't count on it. Rainy season very rarely starts this early, but some cooler weather would be nice.

We had over three hours of very heavy rain this morning so I expect the local rivers to be rising a little bit at least. And stopping posts on rain? Might be easier to stop the rain!

Very heavy rains during the night in Thaton, Mae Ai district. Some landslides destroyed the water supply in this village. Today no sun seen and a nice temp.
