[Urgent] Expired Visa, What To Do?

Featured Replies

I was sure it was going to expire at 18th day and was planning a trip to immigration tomorrow to extend my permission of stay (30 days for normal tourist visa). Today I checked my passport ready and noticed that my VISA has expired yesterday! I have no idea what should I do now? Can I still get it extended or do I have to leave country asap? If it matters, I'm Finnish citizen and at Pattaya at the moment. I still have apartment and bike rental left so not so thrilled about this sad.png

Any help appriciated.

As said you will be fine doing Monday as first workday is allowed when expires on weekend or holiday. But for next time do early as you lose nothing as stay starts from permitted to stay date and not from day you apply.

Thanks guys! Will go first thing in the morning, and hope it's okay. And yes, you are 100% right, should have done this long time ago.

I thought that there was a 7 day rule? Only after that you are liable to be deported?

No such rule. You are probably mistaken with reporting your address everey 90 days, which you can do up to 7 days after the date.

Or thinking about extension for visa exempt entry where they will allow stay up to 7 days if no valid reason for extension of stay and it is not approved.

The fact that your visa, which you got from a Thai consulate, has expired is immaterial. In fact, it lost its validity when you arrived with it in Thailand. What matters is the expiration date of your permission to stay, the date after the word "UNTIL" in the arrival stamp in your passport.

What does the visa expiration date mean?

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
