Various prices it depends on what materials you use and what use it is going to get.

Not a big area 22 sq.M aprox.

Personally if I was going to use it as a place to sit outside on etc, I would go swimming pool strength 240 "Steng" Cement not less than 200 mm in slab thickness and finish the surface area with floor tiles.

Okay, but what about the sheets of rubber that use a mastic to seal to each other? Then gravel, then concrete.

I don't want the look or the added expense of ceramic tiles.

Anyone do this in LOS?

Flat roofs. Feasible on a budget?

What are you intending to roof? You might find that in order to make a budget one needs a little bit more information.

Well what ever you use for a flat roof, you need a roof base suitable for the use.

As previous post more info needed to assess material cost:-

Is there an existing structure around or within the flat roof area proposed.?

Does the area proposed for the flat roof have an existing struture.?

If so what ?

What is the flat roof going to be used for.?

Two story stone-built house. There are large grey stones available here, very cheap. The walls will be about a foot thick at the top, where I was considering using the concrete "planks" to span the 4 meter width, and form the "base" of the roof. From there up is what I'm asking about. Gravel, drain pipes, rubber sheeting?

I've got tons of building experience, but have never gone with a flat roof. Since it's a modest size, and since I'd like the extra living space, the view, and fewer skeeters (edge of a rubber tree plantation), I'm entertaining the flat roof idea. I'm not concerned with "heat," as it is partly shaded.

Thanks!

If you have building experience you should not have any trouble then, concrete planking is good and can get a price easy enough for each one piece.

Whatever you use on top as long as you have the fall right no problemo.biggrin.png

An added bonus - gently slope toward a drain somewhere and catch the rain water.

If you do not have an abundant supply already.

One of my thoughts, yes, thanks.

We used to say that flat roofs leak or aren't leaking yet. I spent so much time repairing leaking flat roofs that I almost decided to specialise.
