Travelling all the way to Sri Racha to get an appointment in 7 days rather than 14 days in Banglamung seems hardly worth it, but to each their own if you wish to save one week.

From where I live

Bang Lamung DLT 14.8 km.

Sri Racha DLT 20.4 km. (It is actually in Laem Chabang and really easy to get to.)

I am not sure if you are referring to a brand new 2-year licence from scratch application. Where did you get the 14-day wait at Bang Lamung from? Are you possibly referring to a 5-year renewal which is a different process.

So, yep, Sri Racha definitely worked for me.

  • If you don't have a uk bike licence then more than likely you'll have to do the "full" bike test so not one day. Car licence should be achievable in one day as you have a uk licence to "convert"

2 2-year licences obtained from Sri Racha DLT (which is in the district of Sri Racha but actually in Ao Udom near Laem Chabang).

The tests were perfunctory. Only colour blindness and peripheral vision were tested. A lot of sitting and waiting around. Total time around 2.5 hours.

When the 2 years is up, I will go back there to convert to 5 year licences, if I am still residing in Chonburi province.

I'm referring to getting an appointment for a renewal of a 2 year licence, to get given another 2 years again as they won't give me a 5 year on a DTV.

I got the 14 day wait by turning up on the 1st day, then booking an appointment. The one given to me was 14 days later.
