Honda cbr650 2014

'Devil' is about to release a full system pipe for cb and cbr 650f.

They say release in may. Don't know the price and no dyno sheets yet but it looks professionally made with 3 D design etc unlike most other improvised custom pipe makers.

But if full system then an aftermarket ecu is needed ideally.

It looks good too.

Lets see how it sounds and performs.

'Devil' is about to release a full system pipe for cb and cbr 650f.

Looks like a modified Tri-Y design. If so, might benefit low end torque.

Am sure it will save lots of weight.

Does stock system have a catalytic converter ?

Waiting for the dyno results.

LL I will say Devil makes very good pipes with the most impressive gains I have seen

at least on my bike.

Wish I had kept it but initially it was too loud for me.

I think on a 4 cyl it would be fine as the RPM is smoother

Even small can types like CR sound fine on a 4 cyl

Surely stock has a cat

but the devil will not but will have a threaded bung for any O2 sensor if bike has one

That can also be bypassed as some do with a shunting plug in the wire harness & threaded plug

in header if using a EFI controller such as power commander/dynojet etc.

Stock has cat and pipe together as a heavy box. I am sure devil pipe save around 5-6 kgs.

Yes mania i hear good things about devil pipes.

And their operation looks impressive for thai standards.

Do you think will it be OK to install a full system exhaust without any aftermarket ecu like dynojet, bazzaz etc for a while? Ideally you need one with a full system.

I dont want the engine get tired.

Just my opinion LL but I think it is fine without EFI

Of course optimum performance would be had with one but I do not think it is as harmful as some

try to make out without one.

More so here in Asia & other countries or states like California which also run an O2 sensor

Because with that O2 sensor your ecu will make adjustments to fuel richness albeit just in the closed loop

low end section of the power band

If you want to be sure after installing full system & running a bit check the plugs & see if they show whitening

or leaning condition. If so you can then add a controller or maybe even get Bigwing to adjust fuelmap/ECU via a re-flash?

If they have that capability

I am thinking the same. Anyway it needs six montha for a maker to release an aftermarket ecu and i dont want to wait that long and i believe it will not harm the engine in a bad way in six months but longer periods might not be good.

Wonder how much will devil pipe cost? And how did they pass the O2 sensor? If the O2 sensor stays, gains will be minimal.

You'll most likely be running lean with a full exhaust swap and no adjustment to EFI- it might not be to the degree where it will be harmful, but if your engine temp is up and you're getting knocking or pre-ignition, there's an issue.

This is what i am thinking too. But want a louder pipe. Getting a lot of close calls nowadays. Other vehicles cannot estimate my speed nicely.

So i ll check the indicators of a possible damage if i buy this pipe. If knocking etc i turn back to the stock until dynojet or bazzaz make something for the bike.

Oh I think Devil may be up & running pretty quick.

Same for the dynojet boxes

To by pass the O2 sensor you basically have a plug that has 2-300 ohm? resistors in it

Someone will make them available pretty quick or you just buy the plug from Honda & add the resistors/have someone do it.

I ran full systems both ways & the gain diff is not as big as you would think as it is just the closed loop

that is adjusted by the ECU or very low rpm sections

Just the fact that the engine can suddenly breth better with open exhaust & air filter changes will make

the majority of difference

The ECU/fuel map adjustments is just the fine tuning

Which I do not mean to discount as it is good & I appreciate the maps I have played with & what they are capable of

You can go faster & you can go quicker depending on richness of maps.

It is quite interesting & fun. So depending on your ride...tight twisties...leaner/quicker

More long straights richer/faster is all do-able with the maps so kind of nice

While most agree a full system added to a stock bike makes a leaner condition you would be surprised to

look at the values of most maps done by dynojet/power commander/2 brothers etc & see they lean them further

still in many sections of the power band/throttle openings

Also the popping and backfire on deceleration really gets thier attention. Especially fun around government protest sites and/or the occasional police box....giggle.gif

I don't know how it sounds but it doesn't look too bad....

http://www.devil-evo.com/html/news_cbr650f.html

What the hell are doing all the other manufacturers?

If it sounds like a garbage truck then who cares what it looks like. They won't show dyno results. Sound is everything! If mania is willing to garentee then by all means go for it.. Mania are you willing to back up your drivel?

Depends cavey......... Which drivel do you mean?

This one?

"LL I will say Devil makes very good pipes with the most impressive gains I have seen

If so then yes of course why not?

I have tried a few pipes on my bike & yes that one had the most impressive gains.

Also quality was top notch

What part of that is drivel?

Yes it is called an opinion...mine to be exact

Compared to what? As I have said twice already to other full systems I tried like DBS Grim

& Corse

What is the problem?

None have said BUY IT

It is a forum folks give opinions based on "their" experience

That is not hearsay nor is it heresay wink.png

It is opinion based on experience/use. You gave yours saying it is exact opposite.

So I guess you bought a full devil system (Thailand not France)

And found it lacking....ok so what?

BTW LL

Power commander etc gives a plug for the O2 sensor but if

you wanted to bypass this is where I bought mine

I am sure they have one for your bike already

Maybe calling it a 600 though? Reads 2014

If not I am sure they will have one

https://www.dan-moto.com/DM_INT/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=129_141&sort=20a&page=1&zenid=hf6mb7bgljlh283b67f1maipb7

thanks mania.

I am sure and I hope Devil found a way for this.

If the price is right, I will get the devil soon and wait for bazzaz or dynojet do something.

Don't think on playing with air filter or box and make it running leaner until I install an aftermarket ECU.

Want bazzaz as theirs include a traction control system and quickshifter too.

Hello all,

I reserved a CBR650F back in December of 2013.

I finally got word that my bike will be ready by the end of May.

I am putting down 100,000 baht and will finance the rest with

whatever bank Big Wing suggests.

Has anyone else here financed one of these and if so, can you tell me details

of any extra fees involved, of course, full coverage insurance, what about delivery fees?

Are there any penalties for paying off the loan early....etc....any and all financial info in a

condensed post (to save you time) would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much, Joe

As a foreigner, you need a guaranteur with a good credit score means he/she needs to be working.

Also they ask work permit.

No delivery fees.

Sorry for the late reply to give my thanks. I've just moved house and was quite busy.

I appreciate the info very much, and thank you all for your time.

I finally talked with Big Wing and they said about 15,000 baht will cover

insurance, and Land Transport fees. Does this sound right? Cheers, Joe

They said it will be ready for delivery 3rd week of May. "I excite!!" (Borat)

The important thing is interest is not reduced with principle.

For example

300,000 @ 5% for 3 years

Year 1 15,000 interest due

Year 2 15,000 interest due

Year 3 15,000 interest due

Hello Yankee99,

I'm no math genius, but that sucks, right?

I mean, when the principle lowers, the interest should be on the remaining balance, right?

Are you saying that the interest would continue to be on the original loan of 300,000 baht?

That sounds like some mafia banking to me, if in fact it's true. Thanks for your info.

So, I pay the 5% interest on the original loan all the way through? Wow, that sucks....mafia banking.

Oooops.....my first reply seemed to have not been sent, therefore I tried again.

i paid 9200 thb for Tokio Marine insurance so ask it. Viraya insurance was 13 thb and same with Tokio Marine! Registration costs around 1500 thb.

Which Honda Bigwing will you get your bike from? People complain here like waiting list is around 5 months so if you receive it soon, it looks like it is not the case.

Just curious about colors offered on CB vs CBR

I have seen at least 3 colors on the road now for the CB

multi color, Yellow & Black

CBR I have only seen Red or Black

Did they also release the multi color CBR here?
