What a freaking farce...pay someone to do the police's work. Well done! Let the mayhem begin continue.

As far as I remember, the PDRC was offering a while ago also 5 million baht to the courts to disqualify the PM.

Same BS, other persons.

Did you made the same post at that time, Mr. Cuicine?

More police join elite police force tasked to arrest protest leaders

5-15-2014-10-34-19-PM-wpcf_728x388.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Nine police officers from the Border Patrol Police Bureau, 3rd and 4th regional police bureau have been recruited by Pol Gen Worapong Chiewpreecha, the deputy national police chief, to join a crack police force tasked with pursuing and arresting 30 protest leaders wanted on insurrection and other criminal charges.

The nine crack police officers reported themselves to Pol Lt-Gen Sophon Pisutthiwong, commissioner attached to the Office of the National Police Chief, at the Office of the Narcotics Control Board on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier Department of Special Investigation Tarit Pengdit said that the crack police force would first target the protest leaders who have no or a few body guards and for those who are heavily guarded, the police would wait for the right timing to strike.

He said the bounty offer was intended to give an incentive to the police ... The Criminal Court is expected to issue a warrant for the arrest of Ko ...

Is this offering money to do police's work, Mr. Cuicine?

I find it just as appalling.

Are these offers actually legal? Isn't making them some sort of offense?

Don't suit the agenda, some agenda driven publicans will set up a reward for the capture of "Mandela of the East"

Sounds a bit like the wild west and after seeing Jatuporns last "costume" in a previous OP I can see the fit here.

What next? "Wanted Posters" on street corners with Suthep's face on it? Oh hang on…See below..

A principle of democracy is rule of law and the reds, yet again, will dismiss that principle to allow mob rule to prevail.

I can imagine tumbleweed blowing down Democracy Monument at the crack of dawn tomorrow.

BTW

Godwin's law applies here as well...

The reward is all for show...to get that couple days of media attention....just part of the continuing political tug-of-war.

Yes, and if some one actually gave them Suthep that some one could be waiting a long time for their money.

Nattawut is not too bright,, doesn't he know Suthep can collect 5 million baht from Thai citizens in just a day's walkabout through Silom?

Seems a bit low compared to what the senators 'allegedly' got in Singapore.

I thought the senators were PDRC??

About 60 out of the 73 Appointed Senators are. I'd have to do some digging to work out the allegiances of the rest. Bear in mind surachai got 96 votes so I'd guess about another 30 plus are as well

Appointed senator Somchai Sawaengkarn said the voting patterns of appointed senators show that 60 of the 73 appointed senators are in the anti-government camp.

The remaining 13 are believed to be aligned with the government, Mr Somchai said.
